I stayed at Uga Riva in the summer of 2024, and honestly, it’s the perfect spot to start or end your Sri Lankan journey. Just a quick 30-minute drive from Colombo’s International Airport, Uga Riva feels like a peaceful retreat that’s miles away from the hustle and bustle. From the moment I walked in, Asanga Fernando, the Villa Manager, greeted me with such warmth and simplicity—he really is the embodiment of kindness. The whole team is incredible, making you feel right at home with their friendly and genuine approach. The mansion is stunning from every angle. It's got that old-world charm with its beautiful verandas, arches, and serene courtyard, but also all the modern luxuries you’d expect. My favorite spot? Definitely the pool. There’s something magical about relaxing there with a fresh coconut king in hand—you really do forget about time. The vibe at Uga Riva is all about relaxation and tranquility, and you can feel it in every detail. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s a place to unwind and really soak in the moment. Whether you’re lounging by the pool or exploring the beautiful surroundings, it’s a true sanctuary that captures the essence of Sri Lankan hospitality.
