Yixuanzhuang Banshan Guesthouse

Walking into Yixuanzhuang is like stepping into a classical ink painting, where every corner is a scene that will make you lose yourself in it. Walking through the quiet bamboo forest, you breathe in the tranquility of Zen with every breath.

This is a very good B&B, hidden in the mountains. It was once the residence of an ancient general. The architecture is very ancient but well-preserved. Even if you don't go anywhere else, you can spend a whole day in the B&B alone. You can take photos and make them come out great. But what I like more is the private hot spring in the room. The water is very clean and the water volume is large and you can adjust it yourself. In short, it is a good place to relax and escape the summer heat.

The renovated General's Mansion on the hillside of the village covers a large area. I really like this kind of B&B. It feels like living in a museum. The yard is very quiet. The owner invited nearby villagers to take care of it. The sisters and brothers are very simple and friendly. It was a good experience.

The 5,000-square-meter General's Mansion was purchased by the B&B owner in 1998 and has been under renovation for nearly 15 years (it was once inhabited by a general, renovated by his descendants, and then taken over by the government in 1958, where it has been completely altered). The renovation is still ongoing... As a boutique B&B, it lacks refinement and comfort, but the courtyard structure, with its black bricks and tiles, carved beams and painted rafters, pavilions, and winding corridors, is worth savoring. After breakfast, the owner took us on a tour of the mansion, explaining its origins and history along the way. 👍🏻 Upon checking out, the owner returned and graciously invited us for tea and a chat. 👍🏻 The B&B is thriving.
