Bed and Breakfast Mittelkarnten

Birgit is a fantastic host and hotelier. From the very first day we were treated like VIP’s and she could do enough for us. We cannot rate this hotel highly enough, clean, friendly, beautifully presented and the breakfast is amazing! Very friendly staff, super clean rooms, good breakfast and cozy bedrooms! Literally one minute from the old town attractions with an amazing view. This bed and breakfast goes one extra mile for its customers. Quiet rooms, even the bathroom was nice! I especially loved the wooden lamp. Also, dog friendly! Thank you!

There are free parking spaces available in front of the guest house. Getting into the house was easy, we found the key in a small locker. The building is located in a peaceful, quiet area. It is a spacious accommodation with a great public room with cold drinks in the fridge, delicious biscuits and hot coffee on the table, along with local brochures with various programs. The well-kept garden is stunningly beautiful with lots of flowers. The dining room is sunny and cozy, the breakfast is fresh and excellent. The rooms and the entire guest house are perfectly clean, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is huge and has a window as well. The souls of the guest house are three nice ladies who are always smiling and are communicative and extremely helpful. The neighbourhood is surrounded by beautiful greenery. Althofen is a friendly little town with good dining options, wonderful historical sights, close to Sankt Veit an der Glan, Klagenfurt (Reptilienzoo Happ is highly recommended to visit) and the Wörthersee. We had such a great time both at the Bed and Breakfast Mittelkärnten guest house and in the entire region of Carinthia. We hope to have a chance to be back some day.

Nice and quiet location with exceptional service. Birgit is an exceptional, very kind host and warm person with a deep sense for the guests. Very clean and comfortable room. Delicious breakfast with a broad selection of different food, mostly of local origin and therefore really tasty. We were staying with my wife, who had a birthday and Birgit prepared a surprise for her. One of the best experiences I ever had with traveling and accommodation. Will come back again.

Birgit was very accommodating. It was a great place to stay. Only complaint was the weird half comforter that didn’t cover my legs until I turned it sideways. But would definitely stay again.
