all inclusive Hotel Lohmann

Absolutely wonderful Christmas week in the Austrian Alps, Hotel Lohman did not disappoint, first thing to mention (and this may make a difference to some) from the outside the Lohman is not your picture book Alpine hotel, it's more like a city centre hotel not sure where Crystal take the pictures for their brochures but I'm pretty sure not many of the guests have ever seen the view of the hotel however that doesn't bother us in the slightest, the two guys in reception were brilliant nothing too much trouble everything explained really well and we were made to feel extremely welcome straight away, our room on the 4 floor was very just what we expected a good size with a seated area and table a fridge and we had requested it coffee and tea was available (we didn't see the need for ourselves) fantastic shower and bathroom, not much of a view from the room as we were on a lower floor looking out on where some residents had parked their vehicles you could see some of the mountains but again we weren't too bothered by this, I would advise anbody booking this hotel who requires ski hire to add this this to your booking it's done through the attached Lohman sports shop which you can access within the hotel, the team there are the best we have ever used, along with the best advice and equipment these guys are really good. Now to the restaurant, we had read all the previous reviews and generally they seemed to be mostly good an odd one here and there complained about different things, I can honestly say it was a really wonderful experience, it's a buffet breakfast with fruit, cereals, cheese and cold meats and a hot option everyday, a nice touch was having Luca too cook your omelette or pancakes to order as an extra option, cake and coffee were available in the afternoon, the evening meals were again buffet with various soups, salad, and cold option, separate things for young children, and the main hot meal was usually a roast pork, beef or seafood choice, not sure about vegetarian or other options available as this does not affect us, we found the choices to be varied and tasty, it's also very wine and beer at evening meals and we didn't notice anybody abusing this at all, the Christmas Eve gala meal was also a really nice touch with prosecco and canapés and the tables all decorated even a visit from Santa. One last thing to mention about the restaurant is Frank and his team they are brilliant and couldn't of made us feel more welcome, they even made us a packed lunch for the coach journey when we left, as we were a 6.00am pick up. All in all we had a fantastic week at the Lohman and couldn't fault anything, may well be back next year.

Great location, very friendly, helpful and attentive staff in the bar, restaurant and reception. Room was a good size, warm and had plenty of storage. Only drawback was no lift in our part of hotel so 60 stairs to climb up to ground level to walk to the lift every morning at 1900m. A useful warm up though! Food was fine, free wine a bonus

From the moment we arrived we were looked after exceptionally well. The most remarkable thing about the hotel is the staff, they are absolutely fantastic. We are a family of five with three young children. The ski school is no more than a 200m flat walk. The ski school staff were very good. The hotel provides lunchtime care, so that you can have the whole day to yourself if you wish. We hovered around on the first day to check everything was ok, and it was excellent, the kids were safe and happy. The hotel offers a kids club, which our three loved going to every afternoon & evening. Lots to stimulate the children and good fun. There is lots of choice at breakfast & dinner. We thought the food was very good, and once again, nothing was too much trouble. Surprisingly decent house wine! Our rooms were warm & comfortable, and bigger than what you get in France. Our linen & towels were changed daily. The ski hire shop is attached to the hotel, so couldn’t be easier, and all the kids stuff was free to hire. We also got a discount as hotel guests. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great family skiing holiday, everything is made easy for you. A big thank you to Luis, Marcus, Frank, Annika, Omar, the fantastic Hungarian barman whose name I can’t recall (sorry) and all the other wonderful team at Hotel Lohmann. We had a great time, the whole family enjoyed it. Great great family holiday.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. It's more like a guest house than a hotel. Very very dated. The lack of leisure facilities or relaxation areas is fascinating for a ski hotel. No where to hang out except your room. Bar was dismal. The restaurant was very dated and the food served was canteen food at best. I don't think anyone got their eggs in the morning without an apology for burning them. The rashers were burnt and floating in 2 inches of oil. We gave up on our inclusive dinner after 3 days and went to other restaurants around town. Drinks are only all inclusive while you are at your table for dinner. Once you leave, it finishes. Staff were fantastic in the restaurant bar and the cleaning staff. The guys on reception were terrible. From shouting at us at check-in to giving wrong directions in a small town. Maybe suit a family with small kids that want to stay in their rooms. Everyone else avoid.

We booked to stay here through Crystal. Having read the consistent reviews in TA, we were fairly happy it would suit our family needs and budget. Everything met our expectations and more, we loved our stay!! Good variety of food each evening was met with free flow of beer/wine; all met with excellent service from the staff (notably Frank and Annika). Rooms v clean and good size, with nice sized bath/shower. A great bonus was the hotel staff would collect our son from ski school each lunchtime and take them to their attached restaurant!! this allowed us 3 days off 0945 drop off and 1530 collection with the remaining days left for full family ski days! Bar was small and as described with little atmosphere compared to other places, but we entertained ourselves with games etc. Good service from the attached ski shop, swift service and vouchers included when staying at the hotel. 1 thing would be for the hotel to revamp the spa area and re-visit the 'no bathing suits in the spa'. Would 100% return!!

Choosing this place for a holiday in the middle of the summer was pretty tough. Tripadvisor and her great collaborators, good-faith tourists like me, helped me with the most, and they did not add any words of praise, but pertinent information and common sense, mirroring how the reality can not be better. We chose Hotel Lohmann, because it was able to meet its own exigencies - first of all - landscape, altitude, second - settlement in Obergurgl, making Oetztal Premium Card a card that represents the connection to the beauties and Local attractions, access to cable transport, access to the Aquadome, Area 47, museums, links to areas of interest on Oetztal, availability of rooms, their size, cleanliness, tight data on the friendliness of the hosts, quality of food Served at your own restaurant, then it was of interest and with what kind of weather Obergurg's summer is facing ... The result was positive, arrived at the scene, I realized that everything was true, so the holiday was a success, I and The family enjoying every moment spent at the Lohmann Hotel. A special note of appreciation for the team at the restaurant, congratulations to Chef Sorin, the girls there! I warmly recommend this hotel to all who want to find an excellent value-for-money hotel!
