Positives: location and staff Negatives: This is not a hotel. It’s more of a college dormitory pretending to be a hotel. The place doesn’t have the proper amenities to be a hotel. The breakfast is served at an outside restaurant near the hotel and the menu only had 3 items with one of them being out of stock. The restaurant staff were rude and it took 40 minutes to get breakfast served. There is no bottled water in the room. They give you a jug and you go filled it outside(super unclean). I saw people washing their hand, mouth and face where you are supposed to get “clean water”. The room is super small like a college dormitory. No hot water for two days. Don’t book at this “hotel”. Pay a little more at a proper hotel and get the full experience of being in a real hotel unless you want to feel like a college student again. After traveling to 54 countries and staying at hundreds of hotel I can clearly say is one of the worst I experienced especially with how much they are charging per night.

First time to Penang and we are glad we chose LYF! Very clean and bright. Housekeeping is well done. Staffs are friendly and helpful and love the amenities when you can do the laundry and heat up your food. There's even fridge and ice box which is perfect for tourists! Walking distance to famous night markets too!

Excellent Location. There is a Chagee beside too. Lots of bars and food nearby. However the room is quite small and squeezy. Doesn’t really have a place to open up mid sized luggage fully. If the price is right for a budget stay, why not? If high demand / surge of hotel price, might be better to look elsewhere.

Not a memorable stay. Firstly, check in was delayed when I arrived at almost 4pm given the reason the are almost 100% occupancy and my room type is not cleaned as yet. Then, the room key sleeves is all used and recycled which mine i had was dirty and worn out. That wasn't all, the room i was checked into had noises chair dragging and weird noises. Sound proof is bad at this property. Parking is alao an issue as you aew sharing with other retail outlet and no guarantee as a hotel guest. Front desk didn't come up to my room despite the complaint on the noises in my room. Would not recommend this property if you want a peaceful rest. Long way to go for Ascott group in hospitality.

Unfortunately, I would not stay here again. There are a few things that disappointed me during my stay: 1. Parking is not complimentary. Hotel guests have to pay RM10 for parking. 2. The room is very small. Considering the price, there are many other hotels in Penang that offer larger rooms and better facilities for the same budget. 3. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Breakfast is served at Kenny Hills next door instead of inside the hotel. We paid an extra RM50 for breakfast, but after waiting for over an hour, our food still hadn’t arrived. When we asked about it, the manager’s solution was to offer us two curry puffs instead. We paid RM50 for breakfast, not two curry puffs. It honestly felt like hotel guests were not being treated as a priority. Overall, the experience did not meet our expectations, especially considering the price we paid. I won’t be staying here again.

Enjoyed ourselves immensely again at Lyf! Room was nice, although bathroom is still smaller than expected. Great location and easy to travel around with taxi.
