The hotel is very new and currently in its soft opening phase. The linens and bedding are great, the room is spacious, and the facilities are brand new. The shower was also very comfortable. The only downside was that breakfast only started at 7 AM, so I missed it because I had an early flight. I asked if I could get a packed breakfast, but several staff members made various excuses to delay, which resulted in a very poor service experience. There was no bottled water provided in the room; you had to go to the corridor to get water yourself. I also didn't dare to use the cups, as I felt they might not be clean or safe.

This is a new hotel with very new facilities. There's no smart home system, but otherwise it's quite similar to Atour hotels in China. It's so new that there's still a noticeable smell. On August 8th, at 11:55 PM, the fire alarm suddenly went off. We frantically ran down 20 flights of stairs. When we got to the lobby, they said it was a false alarm. There were a lot of shaken Chinese guests, some without shoes, some in their pajamas. The hotel offered complimentary breakfast for the next day as compensation, which we grudgingly accepted.

Newly opened hotel, very conveniently located right next to the Old Town. There's a big shopping mall directly opposite. The room has a beautiful view and the bed is super comfortable! Excellent value for money. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

Capri Penang is in soft launch, as it just opened in May 2026. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Surrounding the hotel, are stylish restaurants and bars. And walking distance to Penang Georgetown World Heritage. Maybe I will stay at Capri in future if I am am looking at Georgetown provided the price meets my budget.

Just stayed at the new Capri by Fraser Penang and loved it. The design is gorgeous, especially the huge arched window in the room facing the city roofs and the beautiful terrazzo bathroom. The location is perfect and right in town. You can easily walk to three malls (Gama, Prangin Mall, 1st Avenue), nearby convenience stores, local food, cafes, and restaurants. There is ongoing LRT construction opposite the hotel (slated for 2030 or later), but it didn't affect the stay. Great facilities (pool, gym, sauna) and I loved the floor water refill stations with the eco-friendly glass bottles provided in the room. The staff were super friendly and welcoming from check-in to check-out. Recommended for anyone visiting Penang who wants a fresh, modern, and highly convenient place to stay.

I had a wonderful stay at Capri by Fraser Penang . The hotel is right on Jalan Magazine, surrounded by shopping malls (Gama, Prangin Mall, 1st Avenue) and within walking distance to heritage sights like Armenian Street, Clan Jetties, and Little India. SEvery staff member I met was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful - from check-in to check-out. They made me feel truly welcome. Overall, Capri by Fraser Penang offers excellent value for money with its perfect location, stylish design, and top-notch hospitality. I'll definitely stay here again
