Loop on Leith George Town Penang Hotel

I don't think they cleaned the mattress, I found 2 bed bugs and my skin became itchy and red. They also didn't provide spoons and forks to borrow, when the receptionist said she would ask the restaurant and there was no update at all.

Generally a very good hotel in fantastic location Hotels is quite new and modern in design, I opted for a corner room which gives bit more choice. Room was slightly hot on arrival due to AC being off so do think that should turned on once room is cleaned do room is cool for when you arrive. Overall a good hotel in a good location and woudo certainly come bak again

The hotel is very worth for stay, best ever location and accessible to most of the tourist spots and nice eateries by walk, it is at the very central of the city, the room is good and comfortable.

Despite the comfortable bed and pillows, as well as the spacious bathroom, my overall stay was rather disappointing. The room was much smaller than expected, and the small window faced a wall instead of offering a city view, making the room feel quite enclosed. The lobby had an unpleasant smell, and the reception experience could have been warmer and more welcoming. The parking area was also poorly maintained—it was dark, had an unpleasant odor, and the parking bays were very narrow and difficult to navigate. The highlights of the stay were the above-average  buffet breakfast with a wide variety of choices and the hotel’s strategic location. Unfortunately, these positives were not enough to outweigh the overall experience.

I stayed at Loop On Leith George Town Penang Hotel for 3 nights (26–29 June 2026), and unfortunately it turned into one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. After my stay, I developed multiple bite marks on my thigh and face. Based on their appearance and symptoms, I strongly suspect they were bed bug bites. The bites were extremely uncomfortable and took days to heal. I have attached photographs of the bite marks so that other travellers can see what I experienced. I reported the issue to Trip.com immediately and provided supporting photographs. Trip.com escalated my complaint to the hotel and requested that it review the matter and reconsider its position. Despite the evidence provided and the seriousness of the complaint, the hotel refused to acknowledge responsibility or offer any refund or compensation, choosing instead to rely on its non-refundable booking policy. Cleanliness and hygiene are among the most basic expectations when staying at any hotel. Leaving with what I strongly suspect were bed bug bites on both my thigh and face was distressing and completely unacceptable. What disappointed me most was not only the condition of the room but also the hotel’s handling of the complaint. A responsible hotel should take guest concerns about potential bed bugs seriously, investigate them thoroughly, and demonstrate a willingness to resolve the matter fairly. Instead, my complaint was dismissed without any meaningful resolution. I cannot recommend this hotel and would strongly advise future guests to carefully inspect their room and bedding before settling in. I sincerely hope the hotel conducts a thorough pest inspection and takes the necessary corrective measures so that no other guest has to go through the same experience.

Good hotel for family. Kids friendly. Delicious breakfast. But room not soundproof and sadly my room not have window

I had a very pleasant stay at Loop on Leith Hotel in Georgetown. The service was consistently excellent, with staff demonstrating professionalism, attentiveness, and a welcoming attitude throughout my visit. The breakfast selection, while not overly extensive, was well-prepared and sufficient to start the day comfortably. The hotel’s location is a major advantage, situated conveniently within walking distance of key attractions, dining spots, and heritage sites in Georgetown. Overall, it offers great value for both business and leisure travelers. I would definitely choose to stay here again in the future. Kudos to the management team for maintaining such high standards.

The room is very dirty. There are even double eyelid stickers left by other people on the wall. The hangers are all broken and there is no way to hang clothes. The paper towels are also very dirty, with yellow and disgusting dirt. The soundproofing of the room is very poor. It's very noisy and I can't sleep. This is the dirtiest room I've ever stayed in.
