Areca Hotel Penang

The hotel has a wonderful Nanyang vibe, and the hallways and rooms are just beautiful. They also offer a complimentary afternoon tea buffet with coffee, desserts, and pastries, all of which were delicious. Getting around is super convenient; we could walk to Mural Street in about seven or eight minutes.

The front desk staff were very friendly, and the lobby was comfortable. We arrived in Penang early in the morning after an overnight train, dropped off our luggage at the hotel, and went out. When we returned in the afternoon, our luggage had already been sent to our room. There was even a towel elephant on the bed to welcome us. It's an old building, so the soundproofing isn't great, but the facilities are all good. The bed in the room was comfortable and great for sleeping. It's close to the market, night market, and Komtar. In the evening, there's even a food stall at the intersection (until 1 AM) where you can sit down, have some tea, chat, and grab a late-night snack.

Excellent hotel! The breakfast and afternoon tea were delicious, the service was great, the environment was lovely, and the location was perfect with lots of food options nearby. My flight was late, so I requested a late check-out, and the hotel readily agreed. Highly recommend!

Everything about this hotel – the environment, facilities, and service – was excellent! We even had a little incident: on our checkout day, we were already at the airport, about to fly to Langkawi, when my family realized a phone had been left behind at the hotel. We thought it was gone for good, but I called them just in case. To our surprise, the hotel offered to send the phone to our next hotel in Kuala Lumpur! My family and I were so thrilled, and we eventually got the phone back in KL. Since we weren't at the hotel that day, we couldn't thank them in person, so I want to express my sincere gratitude again to the staff at Pinang Hotel. They really helped my family get back something precious they thought was lost. Thank you, thank you very much! 🙏 Next time I'm in Penang, I'll definitely choose Pinang Hotel again.

The room was spotless and neatly tidied every day by the housekeeping staff. They offer a complimentary afternoon tea, and the cheese mini-cakes were quite delicious. Behind the hotel, there's a breakfast place that's open until 9 or 10 PM. It's very affordable, and you'll see a lot of locals eating there.

An excellent experience, I'll definitely book again next time. Ambiance: Clean and fresh. The dining is top-notch, with a very rich breakfast spread. I highly recommend the Nasi Lemak (๑¯◡¯๑)! Plus, there's afternoon tea.
