After a few busy days in Bilbao we enjoyed a couple of days relaxation in Garai. OAR Cottage was the perfect place, surrounded by nature, we appreciated this 7 room hotel, a 500 year old building recently restored and redecorated with a lot of taste and imagination, to the last detail. The room was spacious, well furnished with antiques and very comfortable, as were all the common areas. Breakfast was a delight with all fresh produce and served by friendly staff. Carmen, the hostess welcomed us warmly and was very helpful - in all we enjoyed our stay tremendously and hope to be back rather sooner than later - 11 out of 10

Wow such a terrible experience.. where do I even start.. Terrible would be an under statement. Better of staying in a motel! Loud noise coming from other rooms, the sheets had really bad oder, stains on the towels, and bathroom not cleaned

Pasamos dos noches en este caserio convertido en un hotel con mucho encanto. Está reformado manteniendo el ambiente tradicional pero de forma que resulta muy cómodo y funcional. Los propietarios se ocupan de la atención a los huéspedes con un trato cercano y excelente. Es muy recomendable el desayuno basado en productos naturales.

Hemos pasado 5 noches en Un lugar fantástico y un trato impecable. Buena ubicación para poder visitar des de Bilbao a Hondarribia. Desayuno muy completo. Habitaciones espectaculares, limpias e insonoras. Cama super grande y muy comoda.

Fantástico alojamiento en un baserri (caserio) bizkaino rehabilitado con muy buen gusto, aunando diseño de calidad y funcionalidad. El acceso desde la autopista es muy sencillo y utilizamos el alojamiento como punto de salida para visitar Urdaibai. Oar Cottage está en Garai, pequeño pueblo bizkaino en plena naturaleza y muy bien comunicado. La habitación que utilizamos fue la de luxe con jardín ya que llevamos nuestros dos perros y fue genial poder acceder desde la terraza a la habitación para no estar entrando por las zonas comunes. El entorno es una pasada de bonito, tranquilo e ideal para una escapada de finde o más días. Desayuno muy correcto y bien atendido por un personal super atento, felicidades Carmen. Esperamos volver pronto

Bellende Hunde am Morgen. Man hat den Eindruck, als ob die Besitzerin diese absichtlich rauslässt, damit die Gäste den knappen Zeitslot für das Frühstück einhalten. Haus ist hellhörig innen und liegt in der Flugschneisse. Klimaanlage kühlte nicht, 2 mal reklamiert, keine Besserung. Bad roch und zeigte auch schon dunkle Stellen an den Fugen. Man muss viele Minuten das Wasser laufen lassen, bevor warmes Wasser kommt. Trockenblumen rochen unangenehm alt. Garten mit wenig Schatten und kein Wifi. Sitzmöbel draussen unbequem. Verstellt man Stühle im Garten, wird anschliessend minutiös korrigiert, so dass man sich später kaum traut wieder einen Stuhl zu nutzen. Bilder vermitteln den Eindruck, dass man auf dem Berg ist, dies ist gar nicht der Fall. Die Aussicht war sehr beschränkt. Beim Frühstück sind Brotscheiben und Croissant genau abgezählt. Jeden Morgen 1 Scheibe Käse und 1 Stück Schinken pro Person, jeden Tag die gleiche Sorte. Die Besitzerin empfanden wir nicht wirklich freundlich, sie spricht zudem kaum Englisch. Check in und check out waren sehr langwierig.
