Tweeddale Arms Hotel

On check in, the carpets had dirty spots and the sink was not cleaned properly. On the second day, after housekeeping has 'cleaned' the room, the bed was messily made up, the sink remained not cleaned properly and no fresh towels were offered. Also, on reservation, the picture on the app showed a double bed. However, upon check in, my room was just a single bed, which was not as comfortable as a double bed. This is misrepresentation. I booked the room for the price because I thought it was a double bed, not a small single bed. Also the receptionist at check in was completely unhelpful and told me that my room was the single bed room. Finally, breakfast was a let down. For the price paid, I thought a hot breakfast would be served. All that was available was a cold continental breakfast. Cereal, yoghurt and toast. Completely pathetic. I recommend staying at other properties.

Great location and historic building Lovely location. Nice authentic but tired . Service in need of attention. Lack of cooked breakfast was a surprise and therefore disappointment

A good stay on business I was through for work, staying two nights. I booked a single ensuite room. It was basic but comfortable. I ate dinner in the hotel the first night which was tasty and reasonably priced; breakfast both days were continental and had a good range of options. Service was friendly.
