Surfers Chalet

We have just come home from our 3rd stay at Surfers Chalet, it really is the best place for a holiday. The location is spot on, the tram is a very short walk, the beach and a fabulous surf club across the road and it's a lovely 10 min walk to Cavill Ave. The apartments are large and feel homely, the pool area is well maintained and easy to spend hours there. The hosts Carolyn and Garry are the best, they are super friendly and helpful and really care that their guests have an enjoyable stay and go out of their way to make this happen, nothing is a problem for them. We love staying here, it's very relaxing and it feels like a home away from home and we can't wait to return!

Readers can see my review posted in February 2023. We are now coming to the end of our THIRD stay at Surfers Chalet, having also stayed here October/November 2023. I can sum up Carolyn and Garry in three words - Simply the Best (accommodation managers).

The best hotel in the coast. Such a lovely place and amazing people. The apartment was perfectly clean, one of the most comfy beds I slept in and what a view! Can’t wait to get back there. Thank you Caroline and Garry!

Best stay/experience ever at Surfers Chalet. This is a superb hotel for your weekend/vacay getaway. Shoutout to our GC mum “Carolyn” who is extremely efficient, lovely and helpful. Carolyn and Gary were absolutely amazing, very friendly and accomodating, and nothing was a problem when asked, they treated us like family. The chalet is so close to all attractions, trams are a 3 minute walk and Northcliffe SLSC is only a short stroll for food and drinks and the beach is across the road. The apartments was immaculate, it was like home away from home. Would definitely recommend Surfers Chalet and will definitely be back.

We stayed at Surfers Chalet for 1 week in Unit 19 on the 4th floor. It was exceptionally clean and the facilities at this property are just as promised. Everything is well signed and super clean. The location is incredible with views to the beach and ocean where we could see whales! The hosts Carolyn and Garry are so hospitable, from the prompt emails sharing information about the property and what to do in Surfers Paradise to our personalised welcome and tips on local services throughout our stay. We felt like they became our friends with their warm hospitality. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend this great property and location to friends and family.

From the time we arrived and left, greeting by Carolyn is amazing, showing us all the facilities, meeting Garry both reminds us how Customer service is supposed to be. This is one of the best places we have ever stayed in. Fantastic location - comfortable bed - clean spacious . Well appointed - everything you need to stay for an extended holiday. Caroline gave us a tour of the facilities - upgraded our car park right next to the lift [ more space for larger cars] Provided us with vouchers to become a member at surf club [ great menu ] 5 minute walk to surfers -Cavill ave/ 30 seconds to hit the beach. We are already looking forward to returning .Thanks team.

Well we finally made it to Surfers Chalet. We first walked in off Aubrey Street in November 2019 with a view to staying in 2020. Covid put paid to that but we kept in touch with Carolyn. Arrived at beginning of February this year and have just returned to Scotland after our long stay. First impressions are lasting and, thanks to Carolyn’s husband Garry, the first thing you notice is the meticulous pool area and surrounding lawns and shrubs. We stayed in Unit 11, a 2 bed, 2 bath apartment on the 2nd floor. Bright and spacious and adequately equipped for our stay. Bed very comfortable and whole Unit was well prepared for our arrival. As long stay guests, we got a weekly change of bed linen and towels as well as a general clean. The cleaning staff were exceptionally pleasant and thorough. You could not find nicer and more helpful people than Garry and Carolyn. It was a joy to meet them. The highest compliment I can give them is to relay a comment I overheard, made by one of the permanent residents when talking to a friend. “Garry and Carolyn make this place.” Can’t wait to return and cannot recommend this property highly enough.
