Onomo Hotel Lome

The hotel has good service, it’s clean and has an African theme which I love.

I had quite high expectations about this hotel, looking at their website. I know the Onomo family and I would’ve never expected such a bad experience. Things started to go south even before the arrival: I had checked in online, following their email, and during the process, I ordered a private pick up from the airport. Not only didn’t I find anyone waiting for me, but when I called the hotel, they told me that the collective pick up would’ve arrived in a few minutes. Well, it took more than one hour… Then, after the check-in, I went to my room, which was supposed to be a junior suite, but I found quite a standard room, moreover one of the few without the balcony. Rooms do not isolate from noise, I could hear everything happening in the corridor, in the next rooms In the leisure area. The restaurant is crazy prices in relation to the area, the food is less than basic and the wait is way too long. For a cheeseburger you can wait even 90 minutes! On a Sunday, there was a private event, with loud music, even during the early afternoon, while you may want to relax. Because of this event, we had several blackouts during the evening. Finally, the staff is honestly the worst I have ever met: slow, unfriendly, careless, They just hang around, doing nothing but talking one another. If you have a request, first, you have to wait they finish chatting. On a Sunday night, around midnight, some of them were cleaning the restaurant area with loud music and screaming as they were having a party. They woke me up and I had to ask them to respect people sleeping. Totally unacceptable! I will have to come back to Togo, but for sure I will never come back to this hotel, probably the worst I’ve been to.

I have stayed and am staying here on business currently and for the next 2 months will be a regular visitor, my company books this hotel so I dont have a choice of rooms . Rooms vary in style but are ok . Upstairs rooms are more luxurious, I am currently downstairs and rooms are ok ,very basic but practical. The restaurant offers a nice breakfast buffet . Lunch and dinner is a problem as your food takes very long to arrive even if its not busy . Food quality is up and down ,some dishes are great and some are inedible, we had the bicyclist chicken and the geunnie fowl last night .Both dishes were like eating rubber ,honestly the worst meal I have ever had in a hotel . Waiters get drinks orders wrong as they lack English language skills . You ask for a tonic water and you get a gin and tonnic ? I could go on but think I will stop here . This Hotel has great potential but needs more professional management and definitely needs better quality control in the restaurant area .

The room was small but the bed comfortable and the air-con good. The shower temperature was inconsistent, one minute cold the next too hot. The garden is nice. Certain events render the hotel very noisy at times. The service of some of the staff was incredibly poor. I was incorrectly overcharged for my lunch and when I refused to pay until the bill was correct the waiter became very aggressive with me. Eventually I was billed for the correct amount but no-one apologised for the abject rudeness. This is such poor customer service. As a paying customer I do not deserve to be treated like this so I cannot recommend this hotel

The lobby area is nice but the rooms are very small. There is no closet or storage space so it is not suitable for more than one or two nights. The best thing about the room was the shower. Breakfast was adequate but not exceptional.

I am currently at Onomo hotel as I am typing this. I am thankful for the odd kind staff I found. Especially during the night shift it gets worse. Staff is unfriendly, and often times even inappropriate, hitting on the guests. No room service is offered. You are expected to carry you plates to and from your room. I am here for a workshop, the food during breaks lacks in variety and minimal service is offered.

Pros: - Welcoming hotel, very cozy and colourful - Free airport shuttle is super useful - Room was quite comfortable - Friendly staff - Reliable ATM in the hotel Cons: - One tiny water bottle offered per day... I had to especially request for a bigger one - Breakfast was quite limited, I was hoping for cereals, pancakes, juices - No tea/coffee/kettle in the room - Room was really tiny, I was fine for 2 days as a leisure trip but I'd feel very claustrophobic if I had a longer stay for business

In all of the world, I have never stayed at a beachfront hotel that was designed such that not a SINGLE room had a view of the ocean. Truly bizarre. So, if we pretend that this hotel Is not on the ocean, then it is very nice on the interior and the pool is spectacular. Rooms are a bit sp**** (no real closet) and the restaurant is definitely acceptable You make the call sports fans.

The hotel is very clean, most of the staffs are well trained and deliver too notch service. The Banquet manager called Haaz is particularly hard working and friendly. The rooms are small but provides the basic requirement. The chef is great and the restaurant serves delicious meals. I had a lovely stay there up until my last day there when the front office staffs acted unprofessional. They need more training on how to make guests come back.
