Huang He International Hotel

My wife insisted on visiting the Qarhan Salt Lake, so we had to change our itinerary and stay in Golmud. The hotel service was excellent, providing great emotional value. It's hard not to give such a hotel a good review. From the moment we entered, everyone, from the parking attendant to the luggage helper, provided impeccable service. The owner really knows how to train their staff! I'm grateful the hotel thoughtfully upgraded us to a family room. The standard room my parents stayed in was also very good, and the breakfast was excellent – truly on par with some high-end hotels in Xining. The only unexpected issue was that the neighbors in the family room upstairs were incredibly active at night. Their kids were bouncing around until 1 AM, significantly disturbing my sleep. It seems booking a family room can be risky, so everyone beware! Golmud is an inspiring city that rose because of the Qinghai-Tibet Highway construction. It's now fair to call it Qinghai's second-largest city; personally, I think its urban area is on par with Haidong. However, the Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop generally bypasses it; you only come here if you're going to Tibet or Hoh Xil. I also think the scenery at Qarhan Salt Lake surpasses that of Chaka Salt Lake and Da Qaidam; it's definitely worth a visit. Despite the minor issue, I'm still giving a full score. Wishing the hotel and Golmud city continued prosperity!

I have to commend the hotel's five-star-plus service. I honestly think many five-star hotels in coastal cities can't match it. From check-in to check-out, the staff were incredibly attentive and thoughtful. Everyone, from the front desk to the cleaning ladies, genuinely wanted to create value for guests, provide convenience, and solve problems. The hotel is very comfortable, the bed is just right (not too soft, not too hard), and the location is convenient. Breakfast offers a nice variety, and they even provide warm milk in the evenings. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Golmud! 👍👍👍

The hotel's service was fantastic! They contacted me in advance to ask about my room preferences. After checking in, they delivered afternoon tea and a late-night snack. Unlike other hotels, the lobby manager communicated with us beforehand, and the staff delivered the afternoon tea and snack directly to our room as requested. The room was spacious and bright, with a complete set of amenities like hand cream and mouthwash, plus an instant hot water dispenser and a variety of specialty tea bags. Breakfast was extensive, and all the staff members were very welcoming.

We chose this hotel for our trip to Chaka Salt Lake, and it was a pleasant surprise! They upgraded us to a family room, which my child absolutely loved. They even hugged the big goose, as if seeing a long-lost relative. By the way, even without the upgrade, the twin beds (1.35 meters) would have been spacious enough. The room was large, parking was free, and they helped us with our luggage during check-in. The service, especially from Song, was incredibly thoughtful. Once we confirmed our arrival time after visiting Chaka Salt Lake, delicious wonton noodles were promptly delivered. I had eye drops that needed freezing, and they had dedicated staff who quickly helped with ice and other requests. The hotel breakfast was incredibly rich. I'm not sure if this hotel is four-star or five-star, but the breakfast definitely felt five-star. I particularly remember the impressive mixed noodles. The hotel also has its own laundry room, which some five-star hotels don't. It's a free laundry room with drying facilities. What's even more impressive is that the laundry room was comfortably air-conditioned and had a self-service beverage machine where I enjoyed a hot orange juice and a hot milk. Very impressive! Laundry bags were also conveniently available for self-service, and of course, they were also provided in the room (thanks to Song). In short, it was incredibly convenient and definitely not just a place to crash for a night. If you're not in a hurry, this hotel is truly a place where you can stay and slowly experience the Northwest. The only minor drawback is that it's a bit far from the scenic area. If you specifically come here after visiting Chaka Salt Lake, you have to backtrack a bit to continue on G315 towards the desert. But experiencing Golmud, this western city, was also a wonderful experience. I have no regrets at all, thanks to our stay at the Golmud Yellow River International Hotel.

Service: Extremely, extremely, extremely, exceptionally satisfying. They offer late-night snacks and milk, and even provide hand towels when you check in. Everyone, from the front desk staff to the cleaning aunties, is wonderful. From check-in to check-out, any staff member who saw us offered to help with our luggage. Facilities: Parking is convenient with their own dedicated parking lot. The room facilities are excellent, and the oxygen supply was fantastic – I had a headache from traveling but it cleared up immediately after arriving in the room. This is the most satisfying hotel I've stayed at during my whole Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop trip, and I hope to have the chance to come back! I'll also recommend it to friends planning to visit! On June 28, 2026, at 7:00 AM, after a high-speed train and a slower 'green-skin' train journey, we finally arrived at the Golmud Huanghe International Hotel. The friendly front desk lady warmly welcomed us and quickly processed our check-in. She even thoughtfully gave us two breakfast vouchers and advised us to rest well at the hotel after eating to acclimatize to the high altitude, rather than engaging in strenuous activities right away. The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient for dining and shopping. It also has its own parking lot, which is very friendly for self-driving tourists. The guest rooms are spacious, bright, clean, and hygienic, and the housekeeping staff diligently cleaned them every day. The hotel breakfast was abundant, offering both Chinese and Western options, as well as ******* tsampa and milk tea. The freshly prepared beef noodles were particularly good. They delivered complimentary fruit and snacks every day. On two occasions when we left early for a day tour, they even prepared packed lunches for us. The lobby manager, Xiaofang, was incredibly kind. She gave us a discount when we extended our stay and even added us on WeChat, checking in daily to see how we (being seniors in our sixties) were adapting to the high altitude. The Golmud Huanghe International Hotel truly felt like a warm and considerate temporary home for us in the highlands. We are very grateful for the efforts of every staff member at the hotel. Our trip to the Northwest highlands was delightful, and none of our initial worries materialized; we completed our high-altitude itinerary smoothly. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you visit Golmud. Five-star rating!

My stay at the Golmud Huanghe International Hotel was incredibly pleasant and satisfying! The hotel service was meticulous and thoughtful. They even provided heartwarming late-night snacks during my stay, which made me feel so cared for and warm, even late at night. I used the hotel's conference room for a business trip, and the facilities were excellent. Throughout the meeting, they offered aromatic coffee, a variety of drinks, and delicious, delicate pastries, making breaks very convenient. The hotel environment is clean and tidy, with elegant and grand public areas, and the rooms are very comfortable with complete amenities. The staff were enthusiastic and attentive, responding promptly, and their thoughtfulness was evident in every detail. Whether for a casual stay or business negotiations, this is an excellent choice with superb value for money. Next time I'm in Golmud, this will definitely be my first choice!
