The hotel was nice but the other guests unfortunately marred it for us. Premier Inn clearly go to great measures to remind guests to be respectful and quiet but I guess due to the price it attracts people who think that these simple things don't apply to them and their children. Constant running up and down the corridors and in bedrooms late at night and the pub next door had a couple of families whose children were feral and had no manners whatsoever. The hotel itself is nice as I've said and it's a shame in that respect.

From the poorly lit and signposted car park, to the absent staff at reception, the bar the run down restaurant, dirty corridors and rooms - this is probably the worst premier inn ive ever stayed at. I was booked in for three nights but ended up leaving after two and stayed elsewhere. It was that bad.

Been to this Premier Inn a few times and it’s been very good but this time not so much. The bed was terrible, I had to make it on arrival and start again. There were black bits in the lower sheet which was crumpled and didn’t fit properly. The duvet cover also didn’t fit, far too big for the duvet. The whole thing creaked every time you moved. The soap container in the shower is fixed at bath height so you can’t reach down for it. Every time I had to go to reception there was no one there, the receptionist was on her own all the time. Although she was very helpful. I didn’t feel the standard was as good as usual. Didn’t eat at Brewers Fayre it wasn’t very appealing.

Lets start by saying lovely hotel in terms of comfy bed, and beachfront location. However. Swelteringly hot rooms, windows that DO NOT open (I've NEVER been to a hotel where that's the case and I've stayed in quite a few hotels), air con that doesn't work, as someone with reduced mobility, being stuck on the top floor with no lift isn't great, but then again I didn't specify in the booking so I can't blame them for where they've put me, only for the lack of consideration to those with reduced mobility. Whilst the beds were comfy, it wasn't worth the elevated rates for Christmas for the sheer discomfort of not being able to air the room. Do kind of regret not booking the Travelodge or something.

Very impressed with my first stay at this hotel, location was fab. Room was very modern decor and the staff were friendly. Check-in was easy too - wi-fi bit hit & miss at times but for the price I have no complaints. I would definitely revisit with my family in the future.

The hotel itself is poorly laid out being without a lift there is only one stairwell available to guests with some rooms a trek from reception along a meandering narrow passage up stairs and down stairs. There are other stair wells which are only allocated for staff use which would have made certain rooms far more accessible. Being both elderly and suffering from walking difficulties such rooms were totally unsuitable for my needs but that did not hinder the staff from allocating one to me. On one occasion when returning to the room after breakfast the key did not function and upon returning to reception for this to be remedied my wife was cheerfully informed that at least we had had breakfast. The room itself was also poorly laid out the positioning of some of the furniture rendering other pieces unusable. The meal offering (other than breakfast) is extremely poor being an order at the bar affair leaving guest to wait in lengthy queues to get served. Noticing that a number of tables with reserved notices on them were vacant I enquired as to whether there was a separate area for guests and was greeted with an expression which seemed to indicate that I had asked a ridiculous question. Unfortunately there was nowhere else ion the area to eat so a lot was spent on taxis going elsewhere. I would suggest that the hotel takes full advantage of being the only place in town to deliver a very low level of dining experience.

I will start the review by stating that me and partner have used Premier Inn hotels on multiple occasions over the years and have had very few issues. We booked for 6 nights starting on the Sunday. We had a good few days and planned to spend a day in Torquay on the Wednesday. We decided to have an early night on Tuesday, going to bed at 21.45pm. After going to sleep we were both woken up by a loud noise, we initially thought was a helicopter at 22.20pm. We looked out the window and saw nothing. It quickly became apparent that it was infact a drilling noise below! My partner went down to reception and explained the issue. At first she looked confused and advised there wasn't any work being done. Shortly after another guest appeared advising they could hear the same noise! The receptionist then advised there was work being carried out in the kitchen of the adjacent restaurant. She said she would go and check. A short time later she returned and advised she had stopped the work, but as it was preplanned she would need to contact her manager to ask if it could be be stopped. She advised she would come up to our room and let us know. This never happened and at approx. 23.45pm we went back to sleep. On to the Wednesday and our trip to Torquay. As we were leaving we went to reception to ask if our room could be cleaned. At this point there was a different receptionist. She asked our room number an then advised we would need to leave our room by 12pm as we were being moved due to the work being urgent and it would be done overnight! A little stunned we then had no choice but to change our plans. We had breakfast, returned to our room and packed. We went back to reception and asked if we would be able to claim our money back for the previous night due their so called 'sleep guarantee'. The receptionist advised she couldn't do anything and we would need to contact guest relations. As soon as we returned back home we sent an email 15 days later they replied and said they couldn't do anything! I will not be booking another Premier Inn hotel due to this as a matter of principle. All they had to do was check all the times previously I've booked with them with no prior claims etc, but evidently failed to this. It's also blatant false advertising for not refunding. Shame on you Premier Inn, you have now lost my custom!
