Helen and Garry couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating. They were very friendly, warm and welcoming. The food was magnificent. Had a lovely night away, wish we could have stayed longer.

I have to disagree with most of the reviews. I had the garlic mushrooms to start and although they were tasty enough there was no bread or something to help soak up the sauce and no spoon given either! I then had the hake which was a pretty small piece, served with some new potatoes no real seasoning or anything to make them interesting and some salad - vegetables were not an option. My husband had the fish taco to start. The taco was crisp and impossible to cut let alone wrap it around the battered piece of fish! To follow he had the chowder which was okay taste wise but very 'liquidy'. We didn't bother with dessert.

Popped in for a drink and lunch with visiting Canadian friends. The new landlord, Gary was so warm and welcoming. The pub has a great atmosphere and Jason, the Chef cooked the most delicious fresh haddock, chips and mushy peas to perfection. The fish was caught that morning and brought in a few feet away from where we were sitting. We shall definitely be back when we are down this way again and wish Gary, Jason and all the team every success.

I booked a weeks' stay simply based upon the Tripadvisor entries about the Inn itself, which gave me no clue as to its fabulous location! This came as a breath-taking surprise when arriving there! Our room was small but comfy, with limited storage space (Probably not a problem for a short stay). Gary the owner and all the staff were, without exception, very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food (mainly seafood) is quite exceptional. The breakfasts were all good, with delicious bacon and tasty sausages. The quality of the meals was exceptional. Indeed in all my 76 years I have rarely eaten better anywhere (including Paris, London, Boston and Norfolk {renowned for its seafood} where I now live). The Mussels in white wine sauce were unquestionably the best I have ever eaten anywhere (including Belgium and Brittany)! It is also well-placed for anyone wishing to explore the Western end of Cornwall as it is surrounded by delightful and interesting sites, villages and small towns. Both the Folk night and Shanty night were delightful as they were clearly for folk who were there simply to enjoy singing and playing. All were made welcome, with no 'airs and graces' or anyone taking themselves too seriously. We shall return !

We were made to feel so welcome by Gary and his staff. It's a perfect location in a small working fishing village. There was a Cornish folk music band playing when we arrived. The food and service was excellent and the locals treated us like old friends. We will go back

Obviously a beautiful location. Food was fresh and delicious. Recommend the seafood dishes on the specials board. Seafood platter and seabass & prawn red thai curry were so good. Not your usual deep fried beige.

Great location to hike around Lizard on the Coastal Path--you are on the path, and the hotel has parking places, so you can get up in the morning and hike to Kynance Beach cross-country on small paths through fields and the heath and then come back on the coastal path (we used AllTrails--there were several routes). The Inn is family owned and has a lively pub attached with good food. It closes down by 10 or so and wasn't disruptive for sleep. You can also swim in the bay steps away. For atmosphere and location, top marks. The rooms themselves are a bit dated, but for us, supporting a family business and being able to stay in such a historic place made up for this. If you only stay in 5-star lodging, however, the lack of amenities might bother you.
