We stayed at Hotel Franz on our last night in Italy, after a two week tour. Had an early morning flight the next day. What a delightful day and evening. Our room was a lovely accommodation, to which we were given early access. Nicole at the front office was so helpful both in responding to questions prior to arrival, arranging our accommodations and information about the lovely town. Really enjoyed exploring Gradisca d'Isonzo, such a charming town. We had dinner at Meja, the hotel restaurant, which was exceptional. Our waiter was so resourceful and provided much information about the food and wine. The Quail Ravioli and Bottle Gourd were superb, deliziosa!!! Hotel Franz made our last day, OUR BEST DAY!! Highly recommend the exceptional evening dinner and local wines. Great value half board. Room appeared refurbished, tasteful luxury. Nearby Monumento ai caduti - we walked the 4 miles to the Monumeto ai caduti - words cannot express the images brought to mind of 100,000 Italian young men killed defending the 600km Isonzo border or worse the approximately half a million lives “flowers of Europe and the world” cut down in WW1. Food & drinksExceptional chef, I'm vegetarian, partner pescatarian. Knowledgable sommelier introduced us to local wines, partner likes white, me, red - beautiful

I have indulged at the Hotel Franz for a celebratory weekend. Everything has been beyond expectation. All staff was attentive, kind and prepared. Clean and tidy environment throughout. Facilities including good size pool were amazing. A special mention to the restaurant (Meja) and catering staff. If you want to spoil yourself for an occasion, I really suggest to come to the Franz to relax, eat superb food and enjoy its top rated facilities.

We have been staying in the Hotel Franz since several years now. We have been trying several rooms in the past and decided for the comfort room with garden view this time. The room and bathroom are modern. Unfortunately, the room is a little small and there is almost no possibility to place your clothes, despite some basic wardrobe. The hotel has a gym, but the pool in the garden and the sun loungers are the highlight, well maintained, clean and spacious. The breakfast was excellent, nice selection of fruits, homemade cakes, fruit juice, ham, cheese and cereals were available, we did not miss anything. We liked to take our breakfast outside on the terrace. The service members are all very friendly, attentive and multilingual.

Hotel Franz far exceeded my expectations! The Hotel is nicely appointed and the staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The outdoor pool was a nice and quiet oasis to relax after a day of shopping and eating. By far, the best place I stayed while in Italy!

I was extremely impressed by Hotel Franz. It was clean, conventienly located, with ample parking, well appointed quiet rooms, and a super comfy bed. The staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. Wifi worked well. The hotel is also in walking distance to several restaurants. I had to check out early and was invited to grab breakfast even before the breakfast area was open. There was a great assortment of tasty pastries and fruits. It was very nice and more than the usual Italian breakfast. The pool area is absolutely lovely for either a swim or just to relax and swim. I appreciated the "pool bags" that were available with flip flops and beach towels. I will definitely return and recommend this hotel without reservation. PS - Special thanks to Veronica who offered me advice on where to grab a Gubana before returning to The States.

I was here with my partner whilst walking the Alpe Adria Trail and staying at a different accomodation every night. I didn't want to leave here. We had the most friendliest welcome from a lady who was extremely helpful and welcoming. The room was amazing. It wasn't the most expensive of our trip but it was certainly the most luxurious and best value for money. We were upgraded to a room with a sauna, the largest shower I've ever been in, free mini bar of non-alcoholic drinks and a really comfortable bed. The breakfast variety was enormous and all delicious. The hotel had a pool but unfortunately we didn't have time to try it but it did make a lovely backdrop for breakfast. I would love to come back.
