Hôtel Château Albert

Totally not for handicapped persons . Parking is approx.500 feet away from hotel. No elevators and 36 steps to 3rd floor. Breakfast is continental and compares with other hotels. We were greeted by an enraged gentlemen and two security guards when we arrived on site at hotel entrance They blamed us for driving to the hotel giving us heck because the hotel was in the village. We were first time guest and there were no chains up or signs to prevent us to drive in .We were told severely to get out NOW. I stayed but my wife parked the car in parking lot and joined me at hotel. The reception inside was the same and almost canceled everything but it would have ruined our holiday. The Village itself was good to see but beware of mosquitoes ,they were ferocious .electric scooters available at village entrance but not at hotel. We will never again book at this hotel' NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE.

Everything at Chateau Albert is superb… the awesome staff in period costume, in the setting of "la belle époque" (early 1900s): a free, full and delicious continental breakfast with specialty coffees, and "cretons": and a corner terrasse overlooking the village which had great views and where you chatted with other guests. These are some of the many highlights that come to mind. Some of our fellow guests were there for four nights, some this was their second or third visit. I could go on and on! Your paid entrance to the Village Historique Acadian was included in the package, along with the breakfast, so the actual room was very affordable. A bargain at twice the price, I say! Reviewing the historic village itself does not belong here, but suffice to say it is a unique and wonderful step back in time as well. I enjoyed engaging with the staff everywhere. They so obviously enjoy their role playing. The hotel’s bartender, Eric, fast forwarding to the present, is an opera singer, so he delighted us, upon request, with a wonderful rendition of an old Acadian song his grandmother sang to him. Claude, the “bus” driver is absolutely charm personnified! There were so many delightful moments during our one night stay.This kind of stay would make a fabulous wedding or anniversary gift for young couples. The peace and quiet-no technology except electricity… makes you pause and reflect, look and listen, immersing yourself in a history that truly is representative of life here in New Brunswick, for Acadians, over one hundred plus years ago. As we say… “Venez nous ouère!” Come see us!
