The first room was mouldy, the second was filthy and had not been cleaned properly. There were battalions of dirt and debris across the skirting and clumps of dust accumulated at places that clearly had never faced the wrath of the high pressure nozzle of a hoover. The corpse of a spider in a web in the wardrobe had been undisturbed by dusting tools. The faded carpet was furnished by a collage of stains of various hues and accentuated by a darker layer that, had this been a half decent hotel, would have been removed by carpet cleaners. The damaged lamp wire lacking an inch of outer insulation in the first room and the completely broken HDMI wall port in the second should have given me another clue. And to top it off, after having to check out early, head office told me they would not offer a refund indicating that this is not something they are ashamed of. Maybe I should be ashamed for expecting better and not properly researching the brand.
