The Table Guest House

Whilst visiting family on the Central Coast we decided to have some us time in the Hunter Valley and stayed at the Table Guest House. What a gem of a find! Our host Jo, very ably supported by her hairy little helper Harvey, couldn’t have been more welcoming and prepared a fantastic meal that evening, and what a meal. Nothing was too much trouble. One of the highlights of our visit to Australia and superb value!

The Table is well located for visiting cellar doors in the Hunter Valley. The guesthouse is warm and homely. There is only a small number of guest rooms so it feels very private, quiet and personal. It also has a cosy common area and picturesque courtyard. Jo is an exceptional host. Her personal care is reflected in herself and the attention to detail at the guesthouse. Jo warmly welcomed us on arrival with refreshments and a toasty wood fire. She included extra details in the room like beautiful sheets, extra blankets and complementary snacks. Jo’s cooking was a real highlight. She is an experienced chef with great skill. The breakfasts and dinner we enjoyed were delicious. Jo was very adaptable in cooking for dietary requirements. It was lovely to hear that she uses some home grown produce where possible.

I booked The Table as my guest house accommodation while attending a wedding in Polkobin (The Convent). I could not have been happier with my choice. Jo is an incredible host and chef and from the moment I arrived from Sydney later than planned to a smiling host, offer of a drink, a warm fire and 3 course meal. I knew I was in for a delightful weekend. The bed was so soft and cosy. The 3 course breakfast was incredible. Jo went out of her way to offer this busy mum the R&R she so very much needed, even dropping me at the wedding the following day, a good 25 minute drive away. Her adorable dog Harvey is an added bonus. This gem of a place feels like a warm hug. I will definitely be back - and am tempted to book out the whole place out (and Jo) with friends. Romantic, restful and cosy. Give this local business your business. You won't be disappointed. Tours, carriages, lunches and dinners were available on request with as much or as little conversation as you would like. Jo seems to know exactly what her guests need. Thank you Jo for a wonderful stay the room was very comfortable quiet and clean. The dinner and breakfasts were fresh homely and delicious we had such a relaxing weekend and your garden with water features and fish just tranquil we will definitely be back and recommend to our friends to come and stay.
