Location and Environment: The hotel is situated in a picturesque village green area with easy access to local attractions like Castle Greystoke. Its central location offers convenience for exploring nearby towns and natural landscapes, complemented by a welcoming atmosphere and proximity to scenic routes.

We had not been to this pub for a year . Last visit the food was excellent. Tonight it was very poor,one of the worst we have had. The menu offered little choice ,with three types of burgers and four other options. We both chose the fish and chips as steak was £30! We waited 50 min for food to arrive,despite our booking being early (6.30) . There was one barman and one waitress for the whole restaurant The batter on the fish was soggy. The tartar sauce tasted mainly of mayonnaise. The chops were barely cooked,white,hard, inedible. I have never complained in a restaurant,but I did ask the waitress politely if we could have some cooked chips. When these arrived they were slightly crisper on the outside but still hard and mealy inside. I am sure they were frozen oven cook chips,certainly not freshly cooked. One of the worst meals I've had. No one asked if everything was alright at any stage. We don't intend to ever return.

Great value and a fab location. Incredibly friendly staff, lovely location, a great breakfast and a beer garden in a pretty village green location
