Free on-site parking. Welcome from pleasant and efficient staff who spoke English. Large, well-fitted room. Air-con would have been useful but not really a problem. Nice terrace and restaurant. Excellent choice of food including Bavarian suggestions. Great place to stop-over. Good value.

I'm not sure what has happened to this hotel - maybe it is the dreaded Covid effect! We have used this hotel for several years on our way to and from Austria and have always been delighted. However, our last overnight stay in late August/September was very poor. The room (same room that we have used for many years) was like a sauna and, with underfloor heating, was impossible to cool down. We slept with both balcony doors wide open all night! The minibar was unplugged from the wall, so everything inside was warm. The drain on the shower was blocked and flooded the floor but had cleared by the morning and the shower head had seen better days. Our restaurant reservation, which was confirmed when we checked in, was not passed on to the restaurant so we had to wait, I'm not sure why, whilst the restaurant checked with reception, when the restaurant was nearly empty! However, I must say that the quality of the food for dinner and breakfast the following morning were excellent. What a pity that this hotel is letting itself down badly with poor customer service and poor maintenance. I wrote at length to the hotel on our return but have heard nothing - not even an acknowledgment of my email. Let's hope this was a temporary blip and that they will make some effort to bring it back up to its former, excellent self.

Das Hotel liegt an der Bundesstrasse nach Bad Tölz. Das Hotel ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und es ist alles sehr sauber und ordentlich. Das Zimmer ist sehr geräumig und auch sehr schön in hellen Farben eingerichtet. Das Bad ist groß und die Dusche ist sehr gut. Die Matratzen sind sehr gut, man kann wunderbar schlafen. Der Balkon ist auch sehr schön. Es ist auch hier alles sehr sauber und ordentlich. Das Restaurant ist sehr schön eingerichtet und es gibt einen schönen Außenbereich mit Biergarten. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist vielfältig und für jeden etwas dabei. Geschmacklich wie qualitativ sehr gut. Das Abendessen ist sehr gut. Auch hier geschmacklich wie qualitativ top. Die Portionen sind auch nicht gerade klein. Hier wird mit Liebe gekocht. Großes Lob an die Küche. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Hier ist der Gast noch König, auch wenn es manche Gäste nicht verdienen. Man kann sich hier sehr wohlfühlen und genießen. Ein wundervolles Team ist hier am Start. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Wir kommen seit vielen Jahren zum übernachten und auch mal länger in den Altwirt mit Hund. Unterschiedliche Zimmer bewohnt, waren alle sehr großzügig und gemütlich. Schöne große Bäder. Wünsche an der Rezeption wurden immer erfüllt. Egal ob Blumen besorgen oder Mautgebühren organisieren. W-lan immer funktionsfähig. Hund willkommen. Sollte man ein Zimmer zur Straße bewohnen, sehr guter Schallschutz. Wir kommen immer wieder!

Locali comuni da 4 stelle, ampi e puliti; le camere molto grandi ma con ancora la moquette... i bagni sono stati rifatti. Cosa ci ha lasciato perplessi? Asciugamani contati, set da bagno molto misero e non rifornito la seconda mattina, wellness a pagamento e senza alcuna informazione, scritte solo in tedesco, idromassaggio a gettone extra oltre il prezzo dell ingresso al wellness. Posizione buona, panorama meraviglioso tra le colline bavaresi, vicino al Tegernsee che è sempre un gioiello, la camera con le finestre sulla strada aveva i doppi vetri che isolavano bene dal rumore. Buona la colazione, più da tre stelle che da 4, con la possibilità di gustarla in terrazza. Tantissime vespe presenti sulla marmellata. Abbiamo cenato due sere e abbiamo mangiato bene: controfiletto grigliato con cipolla fritta, cordon bleu con patate arrosto, carpaccio, zuppa bavarese. Unica nota della cena il prezzo della bottiglia di acqua da 0,75 pari a Euro 5,90: ci è sembrato sproporzionato rispetto ai prezzi delle portate.

Telefonisch bei einer sehr freundlichen Rezeptionistin Zimmer gebucht, und Wunschzimmer auch bekommen. In unserem Gebäudeteil herrliche Südlage, ruhig und mit Alpenblick. Punktförmige "Hinterlassenschaften" von Insekten auf den Balkontürfenstern sowie zahlreiche verendete Insekten in der Stehlampe trübten ein wenig den Eindruck des ansonsten sehr sauberen und geräumigen Zimmers. In der ansprechend gestalteten Sauna (5 Euro Aufpreis pro Person) sind 90 und 60 Grad Saunen sowie ein Dampfbad vorhanden, leider jedoch kein Tauchbecken. Ruheliegen leider ohne Decken, dafür zwei Wirlpools und eine Wandschrank- große Solariumsauna, bei allen drei muss man Münzen einwerfen, das ist etwas lächerlich. Frühstückszeit ist bis 10 Uhr, wir kamen um 9: Im Behälter für Rührei nur noch minimale, festgebrannte Reste. Die Bedienung brachte uns auf unsere Bitte hin wenig begeistert zwei Portionen: Das Rührei wässrig, geschmacklos. Wurstwaren nicht ansprechend angerichtet, sondern wie beim Metzger übereinandergestapelt, so wie aus der Packung geschüttet. Räucherlachs ungenießbar: Angetrocknet, tranig. Sehr enttäuschend für mich deshalb, da ich im Restaurant bereits mehrmals gut gegessen hatte. Gerne hätte ich einen Milchkaffee bestellt (und selbstverständlich auch zusätzlich bezahlt), aber ich wagte es nicht, die Bedienung nochmals zu stören.

Wir haben im Juni 2022 unsere Hochzeit beim Altwirt gefeiert. Von der Anfrage über die Vorbereitungswochen und das Probeessen bis hin zum Tag der Hochzeitsfeier haben wir uns vor allem aufgrund der Herzlichkeit und Professionalität des Wirts und des Personals sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Die Location zum Feiern (z.B. auch die Möglichkeit der freien Trauung auf einer Wiese unter Birken, eine Terrasse mit schönem Blick auf die Berge), aber auch das Hotel (inkl. der Zimmer) können wir einfach nur weiterempfehlen. Das Essen sowohl bei der Feier (unsere Gäste fanden es auch sehr gut) als auch generell im Lokal (wir waren dort nicht nur einmal) war bisher immer lecker und dabei gibt es auch noch faire Preise. Alles in allem ist der Altwirt uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert und aus unserer Sicht ein echter Geheimtipp im Münchner Umland. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
