Mercure Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Terminal2 Hotel

Let me start by saying, I didn't get a wink of sleep all night – basically pulled an all-nighter. Objectively reviewing the hotel, my dissatisfaction with this stay is due to the following: 1. I pre-booked the airport shuttle from Guangzhou Airport to the hotel. The staff enthusiastically took my information, but there was no vehicle arranged for me. I kept waiting around, and even as the departure time approached, I still hadn't received the driver's contact number for pick-up. After repeatedly calling back, I finally managed to get the driver's contact information from the staff. With only two minutes left until departure, I was literally running frantically through the airport. 2. The hotel's soundproofing is poor, especially the thickness of the window glass. I'm usually someone who isn't easily disturbed by external noise when sleeping, but this hotel's location is awkward. Being close to the airport, there's frequent aircraft noise, which I tolerated because I understand convenience comes with a cost. However, the trucks outside the hotel didn't let up all night. Tractor-trailers carrying containers and steel plates constantly rumbled through the streets in the early hours. The drivers occasionally honked their loud horns, which was the final straw for me. 3. From a service perspective, they definitely should consider double-glazed windows for soundproofing. I made sure I closed the windows and drew the curtains, but the symphony of flights and heavy trucks kept me miserable all night, leaving me utterly exhausted for the entire day today.

It's about a ten-minute taxi ride from the airport, or you can take the hotel's shuttle bus, which I believe runs hourly – very convenient. The room was very clean, and the service was excellent. They were even able to store our luggage, which was a huge plus.
