Hotels in Shamian Island and Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, Guangzhou

The location is unbeatable – lots of food options and subway access are super convenient. Check-in was very quick. They also offer parcel receiving services and have self-service laundry and complimentary 24/7 tea. It's perfect for both tourists and business travelers.

The hotel is tucked away in a small alley of an old street, with a rather small facade. The hotel lobby is on the fourth floor, and there's a doorman at the entrance who helps with luggage. It's under the InterContinental brand, and there were quite a few foreign guests staying there. The bedsheets had stains and were very wrinkled. The second and third photos clearly show the difference, as the third photo was taken after housekeeping changed them in front of me. I seriously suspect the hotel cleans the rooms without changing the bedsheets! I called room service to request a sheet change, and it took almost forty minutes for them to arrive, delaying our plans. The attendant said there were only two housekeeping staff for the entire hotel that day, and she had just been upstairs adding an extra bed for a guest. This is unbelievable – the hotel lobby is brightly lit and spacious, there were no fewer than five staff at the front desk for check-in, and even two doormen, yet only two for housekeeping? These foreign corporations really exploit their staff too much. The coffee at the hotel's cafe was decent, but the cheesecake was too sweet for my liking. The prices were acceptable. There's also a Cantonese restaurant called 'Shi Pu Xuan' where we had dim sum for breakfast twice. The food was okay. However, on the second visit, we realized we didn't have to order tea, so we didn't. The waiter's attitude became very poor, and the same dish tasted much worse the second time than the first. The main branch of Guangzhou Restaurant is very close to the hotel, about a three-minute walk. If you go right when it opens at 8 AM, you won't have to queue. However, if the attractions you want to visit require taking the subway, it's quite a walk. For taxi travel, you need to pick your times carefully, as the old city gets very congested in the evenings.

This hotel, which I booked for my trip to Guangzhou's Shangxiajiu area, exceeded my expectations overall. Rose at the front desk was very friendly and provided excellent service. The room's facilities were all new, and the smart Xiao Du assistant for controlling lights and AC was very convenient – I'm lazy and didn't want to get out of bed to adjust the air conditioning or turn off the lights. The cleaning was meticulous, and the bed was soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with congee, noodles, dim sum, bread, and fruit – perfect for filling up before heading out to explore. The hotel also has a laundry room with dryers, which is great for short trips as you don't have to worry about washing clothes, plus a free gym for a quick workout. Furthermore, the hotel is very close to Hualin Temple subway station, just a few minutes' walk away, making it super convenient for visiting the pedestrian street. For its location in the city center, the price offers excellent value for money. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Liwan.

A great choice for family trips, it's right next to Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street and Guangzhou Restaurant, and very close to Yongqing Fang. Definitely worth staying.

I stayed at the Zhan Yun Hotel in Yongqing Fang for three nights. The location is absolutely perfect, right on the old street with all the attractions. The hotel offers a quiet retreat despite being in a bustling area, and the rooms are very comfortable. I felt relaxed and at ease throughout my stay. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Guangzhou.

The overall environment is clean and cozy, the room is tidy and comfortable, and the space is spacious and airy, perfect for families with kids without feeling cramped. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the bathroom amenities are complete. The cleanliness is exceptional, with attention paid to every detail. The guesthouse's location is excellent, making it convenient for sightseeing, entertainment, and shopping. The surrounding area is vibrant and lively. (Yongqing Fang is just diagonally opposite, a few minutes' walk away. Walking through it takes you right to Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, with plenty of food and entertainment nearby). The host is warm and attentive, responds promptly, and patiently answers any questions, showing great consideration. The whole place is quiet and pleasant to live in, and our child slept very soundly. Our entire family was extremely satisfied. It offers excellent value for money and a perfect experience. We'll definitely choose Chenfeng Meisu again next time we visit. Highly recommended for families traveling with children!

I absolutely loved this hotel! The bedding was clean and fresh, and the decor style really spoke to me. The hotel is perfectly situated on Shamian Island, making the location fantastic. It's super convenient for getting around, with the metro station very close by. Taking a leisurely stroll around the island in the evening was incredibly atmospheric. You can spot all sorts of European historical buildings everywhere, and every photo you take turns out great – it's so relaxing and therapeutic.

Couldn't believe the hotel came with a washing machine! Such a lifesaver for guests staying multiple nights. The machine was easy to use and not too noisy. The whole place was clean and tidy, and the location is absolutely fantastic – perfect for both tourists and business travelers alike.

I stayed at Weiba Yiju Apartment. The furniture was well-maintained, and the toiletries were fully stocked. The front desk lady even gave us complimentary breakfast upon check-in. The Wi-Fi signal was stable, and the room was well-ventilated. The surrounding amenities are comprehensive, making it very convenient to order takeout. It's a great choice for both business trips and temporary stays.
