I booked this hotel because it was recommended by the Guiyang Marathon organizing committee. They advertised early breakfast and a shuttle service on race day, which justified paying one or two times more than other nearby hotels. On the night of check-in, I slept shirtless. In the middle of the night, I was woken up by what felt like an insect bite. I initially assumed it was a mosquito, but my back felt like the skin had been broken. The next morning, I woke up early for the race, and during the run, the broken skin on my back stung whenever I sweated. After the race, I showered and looked in the mirror, discovering two distinct marks on my back. I called the front desk, who transferred me to the lobby manager. The manager sent a staff member to my room to inspect the marks. They asked if it was a mosquito bite and offered cooling lotion, but I immediately pointed out that mosquito bites are typically red and swollen, not like this. The staff member examined the marks, vaguely called them 'scars,' and promised to fetch some ointment. I waited from 1:13 PM until 1:55 PM, but the ointment never arrived. I called the front desk again, and they informed me they only had cooling lotion and that any further requests would need to be handled by other departments. When I went downstairs to check out, I again emphasized my need for ointment. The front desk called general services but informed me they still had no ointment. Overall, communication regarding service requests was chaotic and inefficient. While the room's cleanliness was acceptable, other facilities were severely disappointing. The drawers were stuck, and the window handle was broken and had simply been removed instead of being replaced. The bathroom lacked proper wet-dry separation, and amenities like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and toilet paper were standard for a budget motel, completely out of place for a star-rated establishment. In short, despite being branded as a five-star hotel, it offered a four-star environment, three-star facilities, two-star service, and one-star hygiene.
