Lovely setting, with extensive grounds and walking maps available at reception. The suite we had was very spacious and comfortable, with very good quality bed and bathroom linen. The breakfast menu had limited choice, but what we had was excellent - freshly cooked and very tasty. The evening meals were good, but lacked the wow factor and the side dishes were expensive - £8 for a small plate of asparagus. The staff throughout couldn't have been better and made it a relaxing couple of nights stay.

Went for Afternoon Tea to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Absolutely beautiful venue and excellent service by very professional staff. Complimentary glass of Prosecco and Card. Definitely recommended for anyone wishing to enjoy a special occasion

We had a lovely stay here for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was comfy and we enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant and a lovely breakfast too. The grounds were beautiful, unfortunately we didn't get chance to try out the pool!

Had such a wonderful birthday surprise with my husband yesterday the suite was exquisite absolutely stunning , such a romantic break with a beautiful lunch served by a lovely lady with champagne overlooking the stunning lawns and gardens. We walked around, explored the gardens and the hotel. We really wanted to swim but unfortunately the pool was sadly closed for maintenance work that was the only downside but I really had such a lovely day I want to thank everyone who we met on reception and the lady who served us lunch. We will come back 100% as I want to swim !!

We were given a gift voucher for Christmas 2024 and decided to upgrade and use it at Saltmarshe Hall for an afternoon tea experience. What a lovely surprise, although we live in Leeds, we had never heard of it, only being 35 mile away. The hall is tucked away, on the banks of the river Ouse, up a narrow lane. Once we turned into the drive, we were very happy to see a lovely large house, obviously quite old but well maintained. The staff greeted us and showed us to a seating area outside on a patio, which was covered by large parasols ( which was good, due to the sun 🌞) the afternoon tea was lovely, being vegetarian l was catered for on a separate plate. Cakes were nice, lovely lemon squares. But the setting made it for us, we finished the day with a walk around the grounds, which were beautifully kept. We are now considering a stay there for a weekend away.

The staff at Saltmarshe Hall especially Natalie are amazing. We live locally and were having a charity event to support Yorkshire Cancer Research at our home in a marquee . Unfortunately we were let down last minute by the firm providing linen for the tables. Saltmarshe Hall came to the rescue providing the table cloths, they saved the day!

We stayed for two nights and were absolutely blown away, not only is the property breath taking and rich with history, but the service was exceptional from start to finish. We were in the Laxton Suite, which was truly stunning. The views from the window were simply spectacular, picture-perfect and serene. On our second afternoon, I enjoyed high tea with a friend. The spread was incredibly generous, far more than we could finish! The staff were more than happy to pack up the leftovers so my friend could take them home to share with her family, which we really appreciated. Although we didn’t have dinner at the hotel due to prior commitments with family members, that remains my only regret. If breakfast was any indication, dinner would have been outstanding. There was also no issue with us returning late at night. In fact, the lovely lady preparing for breakfast warmly greeted us both nights and wished us a good evening, such a small gesture, but one that made us feel very welcome. Out of all the hotels we booked during our five-week trip, this was the most expensive, but without a doubt, it was also the best. A true taste of luxury, paired with warm, friendly service. An unforgettable stay.

Overall, a nice stay! Great surrounding area and nice staff. We had quite a small room though, the pool wasn’t heated as it said it was, we had a knock on our door at 7.45am from housekeeping (an accident though) and we weren’t told there was a wedding on the Sunday which meant we had to leave earlier than we’d planned as couldn’t sit in the grounds or inside rooms. Also think breakfast only until 9am on a weekend is unusual.
