AAnonymous UserHuge thanks to the owners! They really made us feel at home, even in a hotel! The environment is great, and they're so friendly to guests. They even offer milk, butter tea, and cook rice noodles for you! I absolutely love this place and recommend it to anyone visiting Shangri-La. It's super convenient too, located right inside Dukezong Ancient Town. Even for someone who doesn't like walking much, all the restaurants and popular spots are just a few steps away. I forgot to take pictures of the room, but it's exactly like the photos. Highly recommend! (The hotel's little dog is adorable too!)

JJocelyn.TThis is the best homestay in my trip to Yunnan. Had booked 2 rooms for my family and I understand from the staff is that these are the best 2 rooms in their property. Location is at the mid hill so can oversee the whole Old Town. Very spectacular view. Location is less 10min from the Giant Prayer Wheel.
Staff had help with luggage on our arrival and they also provided transfer to the train station on our departure.
We have welcome snacks on the day of arrival. Every day when we came back to the room, the staff had offered hot ginger tea to warm us from the cold.
The best thing is the heated floor which feels so good during the winter weather. As we had stayed over the Xmas seasons, we were very surprised by the small gifts given. There are so many good things to say about this property but writing this does not provide justice to them. Would highly recommend travelers to book this property and feel it in real life.

We stayed here with our family and had a truly wonderful experience. The place is very clean, peaceful, and beautifully located close to nature. What touched us the most was how kind and caring the staff and the owner are. They were incredibly helpful throughout our stay and always made sure we were comfortable.
During our stay, one of our family members needed to go to the hospital, and the owner and staff personally helped us, even driving us there and taking care of everything. Their support and kindness went far beyond what we expected, and we are deeply grateful.
This is a perfect place for families. There are animals around such as dogs, cats, and birds, which made the experience even more special and joyful for us. The atmosphere feels warm, safe, and welcoming, just like home.
We are very, very happy to have stayed here and truly appreciate everything they did for us. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Shangri-La, especially families looking for a caring and heartfelt place to stay.

MM41128****Booking this homestay for just over 300 yuan was an incredible value for money! Out of all the places I've stayed from Dali to Lijiang and then to Shangri-La, this was by far the most comfortable. The breakfast rice noodles were delicious too. When I was checking out, the owner heard I was going to Meili Snow Mountain and even gave me a bottle of oxygen. I didn't end up needing it, haha, but seriously, if you're going to Meili Snow Mountain, you MUST stay here for a night! It significantly reduces the chance of altitude sickness because they have oxygen on hand. The night I arrived, I went to Guishan Park and got really winded climbing – shortness of breath and chest pains. I rushed back to the hotel to use the oxygen, and by the next day, I felt much better! For dinner, I recommend the Yi Xiang Ju ******* Hot Pot next door. Order the double set meal; don't get anything else, it's too much! Two people will be stuffed, and there's plenty of yak meat. Make sure to order their beef well-done, it's incredibly tender!!

Room is spacious, clean and equipped with smart electronics, where you can watch movie or music with big projector. Even toilet bowl has its own sensors to auto open and auto flush.
A human designed room where everything js being considered, separated toilet and shower, 2 water basin.
We were welcomed with hot milk. Highly recommended!

MM225665****For my New Year's trip to Shangri-La, I chose to stay at Shanlinyue for all three days. It turned out to be an excellent value for money! The owner was very welcoming and provided pick-up and drop-off services from the station/airport. The room was spacious and comfortable. Since I visited in winter, I couldn't fully enjoy the private balcony, but I imagine it would be even better in summer! Shangri-La is a place I'd choose to visit again and again, but I'd especially recommend coming when the flowers are in full bloom.

TTaowenlongThis was the most comfortable, best, most fully equipped, and most thoughtful guesthouse/hotel during my 13-night trip to Yunnan. It was the only place I stayed for three nights, offering incredible value for money. Located right in Dukezong Ancient City, it was very convenient for dining and strolling around.
Since it was the off-season, the guesthouse proactively upgraded us to a larger family room. It was bright and spacious, and the central air conditioning kept it super warm. For someone from the North, having heated bathrooms is a huge plus, as cold bathrooms are often a concern here. But this place had a bath heater in the bathroom, which was absolutely amazing and incredibly thoughtful! The toilets were fully smart, with heated seats. I took three comfortable showers; it was wonderful, especially since I was traveling with my mother, and I worried about her getting sick from the cold and heat at high altitude. This guesthouse completely alleviated those concerns.
They also offer pick-up service. During the pick-up, I chatted with the owner and mentioned we were worried about the cold. He immediately gave us an extra power card at the guesthouse, telling us to keep the heating on. This level of proactive service makes me want to give six stars!
To continue, every night between 9-9:30 PM, they provide yak milk with roses – incredibly attentive and thorough service. Every day when we went out, the auntie cleaned our room spotlessly. All toiletries and trash were replaced. Upon entering the room, you could smell a fresh scent of disinfectant, which was both reassuring and comforting. For those concerned about altitude sickness, they even provide an oxygen concentrator. And since constant AC can make the air dry, they also provided a dehumidifier. You could even have food deliveries sent directly to your room by writing the room number.
While the scenery during my Shangri-La trip was just okay, the accommodation during these few days was unforgettable. I highly recommend it; I truly endorse it as the best choice.

MM39045****Fantastic hotel! I couldn't wait to leave this review; I'm not sure why there are any negative ones. The service attitude was excellent, and the room was very clean and hygienic. The diffused oxygen system was so comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water, plus two sinks! You can tell the hotel truly puts effort into its service. We stayed at another hotel the first night, which didn't have diffused oxygen, and I couldn't sleep. So, we quickly looked for another hotel and found this one. We went to this hotel the next morning. They said if there was a vacant room, they'd let us check in early to rest. They also saw we arrived very early and, worried we hadn't had breakfast, thoughtfully told us to grab some breakfast first. Seriously, how can such a great hotel have bad reviews? The breakfast selection was huge, with all sorts of food options to choose from. The hotel's location is excellent, right at the East Gate of the old town, and there are pick-up points for various tour buses nearby, making it convenient to go anywhere. Some people say it's expensive, but I felt it was very good value for money, absolutely worth it! When we checked out, they even gave us a souvenir, which really made us feel valued. I highly recommend everyone stay here!

The window opens up to a breathtaking lake view of Lamuyangcuo Lake, its waters shimmering, with the golden rooftops of Songzanlin Monastery glistening in the light on the opposite bank. The lake and temple reflect each other beautifully, making every photo look like it's from a magazine! The hotel's travel photography service is incredibly thoughtful; the photographer really knows how to frame a shot, follows you patiently throughout, and the resulting pictures are fantastic, truly capturing the ******* ambiance!
The room decor is luxuriously beyond imagination, perfectly blending ******* aesthetics with top-tier amenities. Every detail exudes high-end quality, from the brass bathroom fixtures to the exquisite ******* ornaments – luxury is in every detail! The underfloor heating maintains a constant temperature all day, keeping you warm even at high altitudes. Plus, there's whole-room oxygen supply and spare nasal cannulas, so you don't have to worry about altitude sickness at all; it's an incredibly comfortable stay!
Staying here in Shangri-La is definitely a top-tier choice; you can't go wrong!

MM279123****Traveling with a large family of eight, including seniors, we initially booked an oxygen-enriched B&B. However, we found that the Wyndham hotel was similarly priced and included breakfast, so we switched to this one. The location is excellent, right next to a hospital, which is very convenient if anyone experiences altitude sickness. The hotel is clean and hygienic, the breakfast is plentiful, and the rooms have humidifiers, which is a nice touch.
