Atour Hotel Haikou Wanguo Metropolitan Qilou Old Street

The rooms are new but The environment outside the rooms and lobby are not great. Problem is u must get past the old main building to get to the hotel lobby. So the entire ambience is ruined. The hotel lobby and amenities were good and new. But the lift interior from ground floor to the hotel lobby (level 8) were so old. Service stuff: v polite and tried their best to answer all questions. Front desk was prompt in attending to my requests. Unfortunately, it was a little harder to sleep through at times because the room was near the elevator (?). It sounded like pulley machines were operating around 5/6am. I really don’t know what it was. Overall, I would still give atour chain a chance since they seem to put in effort in terms of their amenities and keeping the room clean but I would lookout for one that is in a much better location and where the building is much newer. r
