Holiday Room in Chartwell

Great home and thanks to owner we got a room upgrade. No tv in the smaller rooms or common area other than the kitchen. But great place to stay with a family

Stayed one night as stopver on the way up to Auckland. Perfect for travelers with own transportation. Close to Hobbiton movie set tour as well (about 45 mins drive). Room is clean and tidy. Kitchen and bathroom spacious. Would definitely recommend.

Was browsing through Trip.com to book an accommodation for my overnight stay in Hamilton, saw this to be the cheapest among the others and decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, it was really good based on the reviews. I booked a family room which comes with 2 queen sized beds, a personal toilet, and free wifi. Not to mention the bed was really comfy also. The room was really clean and the service was great. It is an self check-in room which the landlord will send you the code for the main door and your room (Its a smart-lock system so no need to worry if someone sneaks in your room during midnight xddd). The only downside is that the air conditioner’s swing blade was broken and we couldn’t adjust the blade up or down, but it doesn’t affect our experience during our stay. Hopefully the landlord can fix this problem. Overall, its a great stay as the price was really cheap, especially for a family room.

Close to the Chartwell shopping mall, clean room and has all basic amenities. Heater did not really warm the room much and there is a centralized control at the corridor so I guess that is the reason why but the room wasn’t cold either so it wasn’t too bad staying during winter. The travelers next to our room made a lot of noise during bedtime (close to midnight) and I understand this is beyond the landlord’s control. The only thing that I would recommend is for the landlord to put up a notice to ensure that the lodgers will keep the house quiet after 10pm.
