Seclusive Mengxi Garden

This was the second hotel we stayed at during our Spring Festival trip to Liangzhu. The environment is tranquil, and the parking lot is quite spacious. The staff were all very enthusiastic and helped with our luggage. The first impression upon arriving at the entrance was that of a deep, secluded courtyard. Mengxi Garden (Dream Creek Garden) takes its name from 'Dream Pool Essays' (Mengxi Bitan), and just by the name, you know it's a very poetic and exquisite garden. Inside the courtyard, there are pavilions, terraces, and bridges, with a new picturesque scene at every turn. The vibrant weeping plums in full bloom added to the beauty, and with fewer people around, you could quietly enjoy the scenery. The room we booked, 'Yu Meiren' (Lady Yu), was very large, clean, and well-equipped. That afternoon, we comfortably enjoyed tea downstairs while admiring the greenery. This 'Chinese Courtyard' was an unexpected gem during my very relaxing short trip.

If you're planning a trip to Liangzhu, I highly recommend staying at this hotel. The rooms are spotless, and the courtyard environment is as lovely as depicted in the photos. The hotel staff's service and smiles strike a perfect balance between professionalism and warmth; they truly make you feel at home. What truly surprised me, however, was the tea. I consider myself to have a discerning palate for tea. West Lake Longjing isn't typically my preferred kind; I've sampled various grades, from ordinary to those costing thousands or even tens of thousands of yuan, but I've never quite developed a fondness for it. Yet, the pre-Qingming Longjing tea provided in the hotel room was an exception. It felt imbued with the pure essence of nature and the spirit of the earth, offering a wonderfully smooth and subtly sweet taste. After all, guests only bother to take photos and write reviews when something is either exceptionally bad or offers outstanding value for money! I have a small suggestion for the hotel: it would be wonderful to label the ancient trees in the courtyard. This would allow visitors from all over the country to learn more about Southern Chinese flora.

The owner personally designed this garden-style hotel. While it wasn't the season for cherry blossoms or spring, the moonlit lotus pond offered a truly enchanting atmosphere. Our host was superb, and breakfast was incredibly delicious. Every corner is picturesque, making it perfect for a weekend escape for families or couples.

Even though it wasn't cherry blossom season and the garden felt a bit sparse, the room itself was excellent, making it a great place for a weekend getaway. I accidentally left my watch when checking out, and the owner thoughtfully helped mail it back to me. Excellent service!

**Environment:** The hotel is part of the Mengxi Courtyard, and the entire property is incredibly scenic, with beauty at every turn – the official photos are completely reliable. The video offers a panoramic view of the hotel's inner courtyard, where the rock garden landscaping is both ambitious and truly stunning. **Cleanliness:** The guest rooms are furnished with solid wood furniture and are impeccably clean. The bedding and towels are of comfortable quality, clean, and neatly arranged. **Service:** Before arrival, a dedicated butler reaches out via WeChat to discuss your basic needs, making the check-in process incredibly smooth and convenient. Throughout our stay, communication via WeChat was easy and prompt. During our two-day stay, we were offered both Chinese and Western breakfast sets, which were rich in variety and thoughtfully prepared. **Facilities:** We stayed in a twin room, and while the bathroom and bedding were very comfortable, the overall room layout was rather disappointing. There were only two small chairs, with no desk or sofa. The bathroom features GROHE brand fixtures, and the toiletries are by 'Cha Ling,' which really highlights the hotel's upscale positioning and sophisticated style. However, the lighting in the vanity area wasn't ideal for applying makeup, and the absence of a magnifying mirror and a full-length mirror was quite inconvenient. While the smart lighting controls were designed quite user-friendly, their placement relative to the bedside wasn't very logical, often requiring a bit of a stretch to reach them.
