Novotel Hang Zhou East Railway Sation

This was my first time staying at a Novotel. Since I was going to Shaoxing, I looked for a hotel close to the station to avoid the crowds around West Lake. As someone who is quite particular about cleanliness, I was most impressed by the hygiene here – it's on par with Sheraton and Hilton! Although it's a budget hotel, it has all the essentials. The room was quite spacious and well-designed, and the surrounding area is very pleasant. It's only two stops from the East Station, making transport super convenient. The Tanhua'an Station on Metro Line 6 is just a five-minute walk away. I personally timed the subway ride from the hotel to the East Station entrance, and it took about 20 minutes. Front desk staff Xiao Ling and Xiao Yue provided excellent service, as did another young man whose name I forgot. All the cleaning staff were also very good, and the breakfast was decent – not comparable to a five-star hotel, of course, but definitely much better than an all-season hotel. I've discovered a new favorite brand, and the fact that you can cancel before 6 PM on the same day is incredibly convenient. I'll definitely be trying out this brand more often in the future. Oh, and you can catch a stunning sunrise from the breakfast area around 6:30 AM!

Our check-in experience was a bit of a rollercoaster. Initially, we were given a room right next to the linen closet. After I brought it up, they moved us to another room on the same floor, only for me to find urine stains on the toilet that hadn't been cleaned 😅. Following a second complaint, we were finally moved to a clean room. The air conditioning in the room was excellent, and the screen mirroring feature worked great, but the bed and pillows were a bit too soft for my liking. Also, someone in the apartment building across from the hotel has dogs that bark intermittently, so I'd recommend bringing earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

The hotel staff, Xiao Chen and Xiao Li, were very polite and provided excellent, thoughtful service. Thank you. The bedding was comfortable.

Our two babies needed milk, and the room service staff were so kind and willing to provide extra water for us, which we really appreciated. The front desk staff were also very dedicated and did their best to help us with any issues.

Very close to Hangzhou East Railway Station, and they offer a free shuttle service. The hotel's hygiene is great, and all the staff are very polite. Although the breakfast selection isn't huge, it's really delicious. Overall, it offers excellent value for money.
