Tuankou Zhongan Radon Hotspring Resort

First of all, the service (customer service) was excellent! At first our room smelled really bad, the cigarette smell was awful BUT without hesitation they moved us to a different room that was completely clean. It was convenient to charge our car (at the B parking lot), and as always the food was AMAZING! Great variation of food. We also visited the mini zoo or collection of animals they had and 3/10. It smelled SO BAD. There is no other way to describe it as trash truck with rotten meat. It was really bad. We have to kids (2.6 and 5 year old) they are early wakers and LOVES SWIMMING, so they really enjoyed the swimming, but it only opens at 9am (which is reasonable, just kids wake up soooo early). Everything opens that time (game machines etc.) Overall, good stay.

Overall stay was nice in the hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast had many western and Chinese options, which were good. Our package included indoor hot-spring experience which was suitable considering the cold weather outside. Only disappointment was 'Nausicaa of the Wind Tour Ticket' which was included in the package while booking from trip.com. In trip.com under package details it was mentioned that it was a scenic stop/park and we thought entry to that place is free but additional rides are payable. This information was absolutely misleading as after wasting lot of time, the information we received (after calling the provided contact number, talking with Hotel staff) was 'Nausicaa of the Wind Tour Ticket' was not located in or nearby the hotel but was in a totally far-off place. No clear information was provided by calling the contact number on how to use the offer as mentioned in trip.com booked package description. Either trip.com should remove that offer or provide a clear description about the location of that place, with pictures if possible, otherwise people will feel lucrative about the offer and go for the booking which actually is misleading.

i have been to the hot springs three times before but I had never stayed at the hotel. This was my first time. I imagine the receptionist felt a little nervous when faced with two foreigners and maybe she felt shy. However, I found her lack of greeting, not a 你好 or 下午好， a little cold. When she did communicate with us, it was in super fast Mandarin to which I requested 请慢慢说 to no avail. She repeated just as fast twice more. I felt frustrated and then resorted to using a translation app. She called over an English-speaking Indonesian staff member. I don’t have the expectation that people will speak English to me, but I do appreciate slowing down in Mandarin and using simpler language. Hand gestures help a lot also. I wish she had told us the WiFi password, and where to access the hot springs. These are two key pieces of information a receptionist should provide when you check into a hot springs hotel. Our room had plastic flip flops to be worn to the hot springs. My pair had two left feet. When I showed the staff member on the second floor, she was helpful and got me a new pair. The hot springs were lovely, as usual. The buffet breakfast was better than the buffet dinner. The layout of the hotel leaves you walking from building to building. At first it’s confusing, but then it becomes okay.

It is difficult to rate the location....far away from the trainstation. If you go to a place like that, you know what you get. Facilities are not new but all ok. In some of the various swimming pools, the water quality seemed to be not very good (not talking about the hot terms). The staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing I really need to complain about is the food quality (I considered that in the "Cleanliness"). At the first breakfast there was something wrong with the apples, honeymelons and yoghurt (although it was packed and the expiration date was ok). I had chinese soup on the pool on the afternoon that tasted old and not good too. The food on the other days seemed to be ok although I didn`t eat much anymore. Afterall I had physical problems for 5 days.

Love this place. I have stayed here 3 times, and been to their hot springs 4 times total. For Tuankou town, this hotel is the best. The hot tubs are wonderful, so many different ones and different temperatures, it never gets boring. Gorgeous landscaping around the hot tubs. The buffets are great, too! Nice and efficient staff, as well. Can't wait to go back again.
