The hotel location is good. Restaurants is good and staff Linda yuan and Elvis Zheng are friendly we have a good weekend ! Maybe we will satay here again !

The hotel is incredibly close to West Lake; you can reach its shore within just 7-8 minutes whether you turn left or right after stepping out. The lobby is beautiful and grand. We stayed on the fifth floor, and the floor supervisor was incredibly helpful; noticing we had many clothes to dry, they thoughtfully provided a stainless steel drying rack and even a dryer – a truly commendable gesture. The view from the 8th-floor restaurant is stunning; you can savor delicious food while enjoying the beautiful scenery. I even found their West Lake Sweet and Sour Fish to be slightly better than the one at Lou Wai Lou.

Despite its age, the hotel was impeccably clean, with spotless rooms and well-maintained facilities. The first floor features a kids' play area and a gym. Yajun provided exceptional, warm, and attentive service, even offering complimentary bottled water and fruit. I would definitely choose to stay here again. The top-floor restaurant boasts fantastic lake views and is highly recommended.

For my recent trip to Hangzhou, I picked Wanghu Hotel because of its proximity to West Lake. However, the facilities were quite old and dated. The carpet hadn't been properly vacuumed, and I even found nut shells on it. The toilet in my bathroom was leaking, causing a disturbance all night, and the issue was never addressed. Honestly, besides its excellent location, there wasn't much else positive about the hotel. It seems to be a popular venue for conferences, as the lobby and elevators were constantly bustling with attendees, creating a very noisy environment. While the 8th floor offers views of West Lake, it was so exposed to the sun that it was usually deserted.

## Location The hotel's location is decent, as it's quite close to West Lake. ## Service Overall, the service attitude was acceptable, and the staff were generally friendly. However, it had a somewhat rigid, bureaucratic 'state-enterprise' feel, lacking the flexibility and personal touch usually found in other 5-star chain hotels. For instance, outside the kids' club and gym, fruit and water were provided. My child and I each took a bottle of Nongfu Spring mineral water, only to be told we could only take one bottle per person. So, I had to put one back, leaving us with just a single bottle. It was quite an awkward and petty situation. ## Room The room was exceptionally small, almost to the point of being cramped. Additionally, the kids' club was quite old with a noticeable musty smell, although the overall cleanliness was acceptable. ## Breakfast Breakfast was truly subpar. I've honestly never encountered such a disappointing breakfast spread at a 5-star hotel. The second day's breakfast was even worse than the first. Around 9 AM, items like rice vermicelli were already gone, and we were told only plain noodles were available. There were also only one or two types of fruit. ## Overall In short, this is a hotel that's simply not worth staying at. It truly feels like their primary clientele are government officials, not genuine paying guests. However, they did grant a late checkout, so I'm ironically giving it 5 stars – consider this a 5-star negative review! Seriously, don't choose this hotel just for its proximity to West Lake; there are plenty of other excellent hotels nearby that are equally close.

How should I put this? For a hotel charging over 1000 a night and claiming a five-star rating, it was honestly worse than a guesthouse. It felt dated, damp, and uncomfortable, and the service was subpar. It absolutely doesn't live up to its five-star status. What a regrettable choice. The room was dimly lit, small, and damp. There was virtually no service to speak of. This was a profoundly disappointing and failed booking; I strongly advise everyone to avoid this hotel. The family room, in particular, was ridiculously small. The value for money here pales in comparison to the Shaoxing Xianheng Hotel I previously stayed at; both the facilities and service were dreadful. The pictures online are sheer false advertising – the room was nowhere near as bright, beautiful, or clean as it appeared. It was small, run-down, and dim. The hallways were also gloomy.

Excellent location near West Lake and Fengqi Lu Metro station. Wulinmen night market is added value for the food and shopping.

We have lived in Hangzhou and know the city well and come back to the same hotel - Rose Garden - but also try other 5 star hotels. Lakeview is a fine hotel, but only if you count it as a 3 star hotel. The room had what you need, but no atmosphere, no nice details, no bed lamps, very small bathroom, not as stylish as other hotels. The breakfast had many Chinese’s option and some western fod - coffee good - the coffee offeret in you room is a sweet milky one. The location is fine, but because of didi app getting around in Hangzhou is easy, you don’t have take a hotel because of location, you can choose a much nicer one a little further away. We prefer beautiful Rose Garden 12 km away from the west lake, with an outdoor pool and all the 5 star quality’s . We won’t be going back to lakeview, nothing was wrong with it, but for the same price you can have so so so much more!!

Really excellent hotel. Kept in good condition with very professional service. 夔洋成 (Zecheng Kui) at reception and Yi Xia at concierge were really helpful and excellent staff.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel! Upon check-in, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a spacious and comfortable room — such a lovely gesture that made our trip even more special. The room was well-equipped with a variety of teas, which was a nice touch for winding down after a day out. What really stood out to us was how child-friendly the hotel is — they provided kids’ slippers and toothbrushes, which our little one loved! It’s those thoughtful details that make all the difference. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection of fresh and tasty options to start the day. And the location couldn’t be better — right next to West Lake, making it super convenient for sightseeing and enjoying peaceful walks. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located, and welcoming place to stay. We’d happily return!

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The hotel’s location is perfect, offering stunning views and easy access to Hangzhou’s attractions. We were particularly impressed with the exceptional friendliness and professionalism of Linda Yuan and Bella Jin. Their warm, attentive service made our stay truly memorable. Whether it was offering local recommendations or ensuring our needs were met with a smile, they consistently exceeded our expectations. The room service was equally outstanding—prompt, meticulous, and delivered with genuine care, thanks to Linda and Bella’s efforts. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with all the modern amenities we could ask for. The overall ambiance of the hotel, combined with its top-notch service, created a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. We left feeling pampered and already looking forward to our next visit. What an absolutely lovely experience! The lady at the front desk spoke English and upgraded our room. We had so much space for our boys. My husband loved the spacious bathroom, since some hotels have really cramped bathrooms. There was even a TV to watch something while taking a bath! They have many movies available (in English as well). The location is great - super near the West Lake and Kerry Centre. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had a large variety to choose from (Western and Chinese food). My sons also had fun playing in their playroom. We will definitely stay here again when coming to Hangzhou. Highly recommend!
