Checked in on March 18. Last year, I passed by this hotel and saw that it was in the center of town, which made it convenient. However, I encountered the following problems after check-in:
1. The manager named Lisa did not trust my Bank of America credit card (I use this card all over the world, and it was very smooth). I won’t go into details, but it was very unpleasant;
2. The hygiene was very poor, and the towels had a strong foot odor! They were completely unusable!
3. After paying for breakfast, they would not provide hot food until I asked for it (which was very different from other similar hotels in the UK).

The room was ok as was the bathroom The noise at night from thr bar went on until 2am .We had to close the windows in the room and there was no fan so an uncomfortable night was endured . Tea and coffee in room but no milk sachets supplied. no internet connection in room In the room it clearly says breakfast starts at 8 am on sundays , i checked this as I had to leave by 8.45am. At 8.15 myself and approx another 15 guests all stood outside the bar in the rain ,no lights on inside ,eventually it opened at 8.30 with the ? chef /manager telling all breakfast started at 8.30. a small coffee machine (filthy) behind the bar was available for use .So 20 people all wanting a drink at the same time . The continental breakfast consisting of large family type boxes of opened LIDL cereals with milk arriving 10 mins later .Orange juice arrived 10 minuties later no glasses available but managed to find a plastic cup behind the bar. The chef ? said he would take our order along with the other 20 or so people as this would be quicker ! We ordered,10 minuites later he informed us that there were no eggs !!! Our breakfast and toast arrived at 09.35 !!! an hour and 5 mins later no eggs ,no hash browns just a sausage peice of bacon beans and a tomato ....dreadful. We searched for a tap just to get a glass of water as well but couldnt find one! I stayed here 2 years ago and it was good on the whole . This time it was just awful AVOID I will be asking for a refund as it was £98 i will not be staying again !

Avoid this hotel at all costs. The rooms are poorly maintained—the edges of the carpet were lined thick with dust, clearly visible against the flooring. Over my 4-night stay, my room was never serviced: no fresh towels, no bins emptied, nothing. Food is hit and miss, often sporadically available and not of good quality. Breakfast is included in the room price, but on my first morning it was served cold—beans on toast, somehow done wrong. After that, I didn’t bother returning. The biggest issue is the noise. Rooms overlook the bar courtyard, which attracts loud, heavy-drinking locals. On two weeknights, I was kept awake until 1am and 1:30am because the bar doesn’t appear to have a proper closing time. I even called the bar at 11:30pm to ask staff to quieten things down. The noise continued, and to my surprise, the manager joined in. I had to call again just after midnight, threatening to contact the police if it wasn’t resolved. As a paying guest, I should not have to repeatedly phone down just to get some peace and sleep. Sadly, this stay left me questioning what actually goes on in that bar.

We had an amazing stay at the George hotel Crewkerne, very clean, very comfortable, our hosts were amazing, breakfast was a little slow but the wait was certainly worth it, it's such a friendly hotel, we recommend it to everyone go there and relax.

The rooms were across the courtyard of the hotel. The stairs up are quite steep, there are two hand rails but these are quite dirty, and the carpet could do with a good hover. The room was ok, but small and I felt the bed was a small double, and the room was a bit "tired". When booking in we were asked to book a breakfast time, this was because it is cooked to order so they book it in 3 time slots. I thought this was a good idea, to have it cooked fresh. However, we went to breakfast at our allotted time. It was 20 minutes before anyone came out. There is no one to greet you or show you to a table. Despite the tables being numbered, people were sitting anywhere, so when we got there tables were not laid. The chef was very apologetic, as he didn't know we where there, as he is in the kitchen. What's the point of booking time slots if, no one's there to note your arrival. The breakfast was OK ish, cereal packs are left open, menus stated "hot baked beans" they were warm at best. The staff are very pleasant and friendly, the land lord and land lady haven't been there very long, and sit outside smoking with locals quite a lot.

The room was great, clean and had everything we needed for our one night stay. We were staying for a local wedding. The rooms are opposite the pub and the stairs quite steep to get up to the rooms. We booked 3 rooms in total for our party and all 3 were good. The beds comfy and great pillows. The drinks in the bar very reasonably priced. Didn’t eat here only had breakfast in the morning which was great had a full English and we had to wait a bit as the chef who I think runs the pub had some bits in the kitchen break down however he still manages to pull it out of the bag and everything was piping hot, well cooked and tasty! Just what we needed after the wedding. When we arrived back from the wedding the pub was much busier than when we checked in so definitely a hub of activity for the evening which we didn’t mind but I can imagine the rooms being quite noisy as most back onto the courtyard where people were outside drinking. The staff who we encountered were very friendly and helpful so a great stay all round. Thanks. Would stay again if in the area.

Stayed overnight awful rooms were clean but shabby, no milk in rooms had to go to pub next door to find some. Booked evening meals due to being told hotel was full and needed to book in advance. Only one more couple in there otherwise empty. Had to move tables due to dirty tables & flues everywhere. menu looked ok not much to choose starters soup was cold and definitely not vegetable it was thick and dark brown tasted like it had been burnt so send it back. Pate didn’t come with Branson or piccalilli. Main meal we ordered fish, hunters chicken which was burnt & beef burger ok. When we complained the waiter/ barman said he liked the food. Only to find out next morning he was the chef🙈🙈🙈. Had to wait outside in the morning as they opened late due to chef still being in bed ? Cereals in open boxes with flies around them & cooked breakfast way below standards & yet again cold. Would AVOID at all costs. Couldn’t take photos as didn’t have our phones with us.

The worst hotel service we have probably ever had. Every staff member was confused and didn’t know how to complete simple tasks like check in, showing people to their rooms, breakfast, house keeping etc. Every question was met with uncertainties. We came down for breakfast and cereals were on the side in their normal packaging. I had to actively search out for staff. To ask for breakfast which they weren’t able to do. Left with a dry bit of toast with enough butter to do half a slice. Not asked about drink orders and no cooked option because they hadn’t turned on the grill. No ice for drinks Staff literally looked at us like we had asked for mountains to be moved or speaking in a different language. Everything was too much trouble Wouldn’t recommend We stayed for a local wedding. We had booked out 6 rooms in the hotel all in separate bookings. But we all experience similar scenarios
