Absolutely awful roast beef dinner. Swimming in a Luke warm dark gravy. Meat was totally inedible (maybe shoe leather)!! Mashed smash like school dinners in the 70’s there were some vegetables buried under the beef and wow soggy Yorkshire puddings!! This coming from a Scot.

I can’t comment on any other food than vegetarian but our food was terrible! We are vegetarians and the options were very few plus I am also celiac. There were no interesting toppings to add to margarita gluten free (I didn’t want Mediterranean topping as I worried it would be slushy and bland) so I chose the 3bean chilli, my husband had vegetable wellington, both were made up of predominantly frozen veg! Pretty disgusting - I barely ate any of mine and was struggling not to retch!

Well, here we go; my partner and I were staying in Dent, we dropped in for food on Sunday evening. My partner ordered the “Sunday roast “ (beef), I ordered mushroom and veg lasagne. The roast beef dinner was excellent, but the lasagne was disgusting, I actually commented when it arrived “ I hope this is better than it looks!” It was grey and dry looking and unfortunately it was actually worse than it looked. The bar tender asked about the food and as I had been asked, I gave him an honest reply; credit where it’s due; I was given a refund! Due to their acknowledgment of substandard food, and the fact that there is only 1 eatery in Dent of an evening, we returned on Tuesday evening. I thoroughly enjoyed a pizza and my partner highly rated his burger. Their staff are fantastic, such a shame the food isn’t of the same calibre. Just a few tweaks and I’m sure it could be. After seeing some of the reviews on various platforms I had my doubts but there was no need. I must say this is the best food we've had for a very long time , very tasty indeed. Staff were absolutely brilliant, vast selection of real ales on tap and the food was spot on. Succulent scampi prices, proper home cooked chips to die for, a ram packed steak and ale pie plus the Cumberland ring were all fabulous. Literally can't fault this place and it should be busier. 👌

Comfy pub/hotel with food. Needs some exterior "tlc". Our room was fine we had a twin with a country view. The location is lovely in the centre of cobbled village. Nice choice of food.& beers. Good breakfast. Great staff. It has own small car park.

Booked to stay for one night with hubby and 8 year old son. Meeting up with friends who were staying In the village. Have visited Dent a few times, the first was over 30 years ago and had always wanted to stay in the George and dragon and Dent is a beautful village. On arrival the hotel was shut so couldn’t check in even though it said from 3 on my booking. So we decided to go for a walk which was lovely. Had wanted to book a table for a meal but was told was fully booked. Found a lovely pub not too far away which was amazing called the sportsman’s Inn highly recommend for food and drinks . When we checked in at around 5 the resturant looked empty ? The room was room 3 right at the top of the pub. Room looked nice and clean but a bit dated. Door to bathroom didn’t open properly and had no lock. Didn’t sleep well at all. Every-time you moved the bed creaked so would keep us awake and was not very comfy. Maybe time to get new beds and a revamp?! At 3am the tv decided to flash . First a red light then a blue light like it was trying to turn on. Was really annoying. Tea and coffee in room which is always nice to have. Breakfast was nice and we all enjoyed that and the staff were Friendly . But we Wouldn’t stay here again sadly.

Fabulous service - when I turned up with a mate keen to watch a rugby match, which turned out to be on an obscure channel, Jen could not possibly have been more helpful. She tried a number of different ideas, until finally she was successful, lending us her laptop and making sure we were all set up. She simply could not have been more welcoming and helpful - her approach reflected really well on the pub/hotel. We retuned to eat later and the food was excellent and well priced.

Although the restaurant was full, and we hadn't booked a table, the friendly team managed to provide decent food from the bar menu, which was very much appreciated after our Yorkshire three peaks walk. Nice setting and a clean and practical room.
