The facilities are old and the beds are narrow for 2 persons. The breakfast of the hotel is AU $17 and the teethbrushes are not provided. The location is in China Town and Central Railway station.

The location of Great Southern Hotel is very centrally located, it is 1 min walk to the Haymarket Tram Stop which takes you directly to Circulr Quay where most of the tourist attractions are. Apart from the amazing location, the staff were all very friendly, professional and accomodating, even providing us early check in and late checkout. The room itself is slightly dated but extremely clean so we had no issues with it at all. The elevators are surprisingly modern and fast for an older hotel which was great. We did not find any issues with the lack of housekeeping as we were aware of what we paid for. We were able to get additional change of towels, toiletries, trash bags etc. from the front desk with no issues at all. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for it is amazing value for the price.

The location is great and the staff is quite friendly. I arrived early and they allowed me to check in since the room was ready. It's a good experience overall.

We found the services in the Great Southern Hotel Sydney to be excellent. We arrived late on our first stay prior to a cruise and very early after our cruise and was still able to access our hotel room with ease and they were very helpful to us at this time of the night.
The room was very clean and sufficient for our needs. The location was excellent as it was very central to Central Station, Paddy's Markets and within easy walking distance to all the local attractions in Sydney, ie Darling Harbour, Circular Key and Opera House, Bridge, ect. Being so close to Central station this made travelling to other destinations further afield really easy. I would definitely stay there again when visiting Sydney.

Good location near market city and central station have 2 entrance. The back entrance is good can drop off and pick up there. Near by hotel have a lot of restaurant . You can walk from hotel to darling harbour as well. Check out 10 am

Location was perfect to be able to take in the beautiful sights of Sydney. Close to the train too. Loved the decor of the lobby.The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. We would love to stay there again.

Location is excellent for catching Light rail across the road or the train couple minutes away. The room have all the basics. Bathrooms a little dated but that's not a big deal. It's my go place to stay in Sydney.😀
