My family loved the stay and we will be returning! The hotel was very clean. All of the staff I dealt with was incredibly nice. The room was cheap because I booked months in advance I was so pleased with the quality for the money. Amazing pool area for the kids that is heated so they were outside playing even though it was less than 60 degrees out. The front desk manager was so kind that she sent us a complementary bottle of wine to our room. The restaurant on site wasn’t too bad either, certainly nothing too impressive but I didn’t have to leave to go get food which I did like. There’s gas stations within 3 minutes from the hotel so you can get any goodies you may need easily. Loved the site, loved the staff, loved the quality for the money, and we had a great time. Shoutout to Taylor Knudsen the front desk manager for the hand written letter and wine, making my family feel so welcome and grateful on top of all the other amazing staff that helped us with whatever we needed. Keep up the great work guys :)

The grounds and beach are very nice but I had a terrible experience here. The air in some of the buildings is VERY moldy. I became allergic to mold after staying in a moldy condo several years ago. I made it clear before arriving that I am allergic to mold. Upon check-in, I reminded them of this but the room they assigned had a VERY strong mold smell- it was coming from the vents, which means it is in the HVAC for that entire building. My husband, who is not sensitive, smelled it too. Without touching anything in the room, we went back to the front desk to request another room. The front desk manager, Alan, gave me a very hard time, saying that they had no mold, no one else has complained, and he had given us the best room available. I asked if I could see another room before switching and he refused. I was happy to accompany a manager or housekeeping- he refused. He said I could book a different room without smelling it. Since he said there was no mold, and I clearly know there was, I didn’t want to get myself into a worse situation, so we kept the same room. He treated me like I was stupid and unreasonable. I tried to air out the room, but it was so humid and hot it was necessary to keep the AC on and windows shut. At 4 am, I woke up having enough difficulty breathing that I slept the remainder of the night outside on the cement floor of the balcony. The next morning, Alan said they could possibly switch my room after an 11am meeting. So we had to wait around, and in the meantime I visited a nearby hotel, where they gladly let me smell the room I would book, and it was not moldy. After telling Alan this, he had the housekeeping manager meet me at my room- which I was staying out of at this point- and she let me smell the air in the unit next door (also moldy, as I would expect, being in the same building.) She then took me to another building and that room was much better and tolerable mold-wise. She was helpful and respectful, but I spent a miserable night, compromised my health, wasted a half-day of my vacation, and endured being marginalized before we got to that point.

This is our second time at Barony and we loved it just as much as the first! The location in the Port Royal area is amazing! There are plenty of bike paths and walking paths. You can pick up your groceries at Walmart or Kroger just a few miles down the road. Golf is right at your finger tips and the resort is right on the beach. The splash pad; 4 pools; and water slide make for hours of fun for the kiddos. And we love the courtyard with cornhole; ping pong; and shuffleboard. The Marriott resorts are by far the best with activities! Joey made bingo, trivia, and s’mores night a blast. David was hilarious with bingo, 80s music trivia (that’s on my playlist too ); and peanuts and coke on the porch. And Martha did an incredible job at weekend water aerobics. This has become our favorite resort in HHI and we can’t wait to be back next year (or hopefully even sooner!). Thank you for the memories once again!

Marriott's Barony Beach Club is a gem of a coastal retreat, offering the perfect blend of relaxation and functionality. The spacious, well-maintained rooms impress with their cleanliness, ample storage, and unique decorative details, while oceanfront units offer breathtaking views from windows and patios. Strong Wi-Fi supports seamless remote work, and the pristine private beach invites walks or bike rides on its firm sand. Guest Services enhances the experience with their super-friendly communication, keeping guests informed about onsite work and checking in via text to ensure every need is met. I'm hard-pressed to find flaws, but the bar and grill’s early closing at 6 PM and dim living room lighting are minor areas for improvement. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to this Marriott property. It is a stellar choice for a coastal getaway that balances relaxation, productivity, and comfort!

We have been going to Marriott ´s Barony Beach club for 4 years. We have always had a beautiful view of the ocean. The hotel is always immaculate and grounds well kept. The director of activities is fun and well organized Tanya Burke does a great job. Tavaria Stafford helped us and gave us a great room. The general manager was very nice and helpful at the wine social. (Willie Nagda)

They told us room would be ready 5 times and it was not and because of this we missed our sons marine graduation their were blood all in the sheets and the rooms were disgusting I had to clean the toilet myself and I had to clean my sons room both who just graduated. The people at the front desk made me uncomfortable as the man who checked us in continually hit on me so much that my wife had to tell me to walk away which I did. No one offered to take our bags or who us to our rooms the hotel was dead as in no signs of life at all I don’t think they are marine friendly because when I called to complain about this they put me on hold for two days before someone answered and told me that their is nothing they can do about it and also proceeded with the same we are sorry crap that they go to college for she was rude also if I were you do not stay here no matter what a super 8 was way nicer than this place and the people are nicer too. The only good thing was a women named Irish she was amazing and the only one that cared and congratulated my boys and took care of my wife while she had gotten sick from the 17 hour drive this place is horrible the ppl are horrible and if you complain they do not care so don’t expect even a simple apology they ruined our vacation with their lies and my sons would never go back because of how they were treated. Do not take your family here spend your money somewhere else my motto is anything is better then the Marriott they do not care about marines plane and simply and they are rude with filthy rooms.

Excellent location, well maintained, friendly staff, all around excellent. We stayed for five days for golf. Our room wasn't ocean front but we still had a very nice ocean view (need to be third floor or higher), and all rooms face towards the courtyard or ocean, not the back side. The staff was friendly and fast at check in, and the concierge gave us great inside tips on local golf and some deals available to hotel guests (try Bear Creek!). I'm terrible with names, but Quinton...Quinlan...not sure, at check in and after, was excellent. The rooms (at least ours) are well-kept vacation club villas with full kitchen and bedrooms. We were advised that we have to clean our own towels (not common at other vacation clubs) but they brought us fresh ones anyway, and replaced our beach towels that seemed to walk away by themselves at the pool. We took an aqua fit class one rainy morning (nice to have an indoor pool), which was a good class. They're as challenging as you decide they should be. Location is also convenient to all north island and off-island golf courses. So I highly recommend!

We typically visit Hilton Head once or twice a year and booked a relatively last-minute trip this time. We usually stay towards Coligny Square, but because of availability, we had to look elsewhere and gave the Barony a shot. We sure are glad we did! The rooms were fantastic — well taken care of, clean, and well-stocked. Although you can’t see the beach from the rooms (to be expected), it is only a short walk. The heated indoor and outdoor pools were quite pleasant (especially for our daughter!). Many scheduled activities were happening — even during this shoulder season, and the resort offered plenty of games like table tennis, shuffleboard, corn hole, etc. We know it wasn’t the busy season, but we found this side of the island quiet and relaxing. Oh, and a special shoutout to the gentleman working the front desk. I believe his name was Quinlac, although I may be misspelling that. He was hands-down one of the politest and friendliest employees we’ve encountered in many years of travel! Our family will absolutely be returning to this resort in the future!
