A great budget hotel in a very good quiet location. We had a great 3-day stay near the end of February. The room was big and the hotel is super clean. Everyone was so nice. We enjoyed walking around Tam Coc town. Had some great roasted ducks and bun cha quat for all 3 days. Thanks for a great stay.

Positive The hotel is located right in the city center. You can reach restaurants and shops literally within a few minutes. We were greeted with welcome drinks. And since we arrived in the morning, they allowed us to leave our belongings in storage until check-in. The hotel has a pool and free (but very, very old) bicycles. I recommend taking a bike ride along the nearby fields and mountains - memories for a lifetime. The beauty around is breathtaking! The breakfast selection is quite good. Additionally, you can order various egg dishes and pancakes from the menu (free of charge), as well as Asian soup. The hotel has its own small courtyard where there is a small pond with a huge number of beautiful fish. And also, in the lobby, there is a huge vase with live orchids. It's a sight to behold! Points for improvement The coffee at breakfast was just terrible - we went to a nearby café after breakfast for good coffee. It gave the impression (hopefully mistaken) that everyone sees you as just a walking cash register. We ordered a taxi to the sights. The manager at the reception said the car would be there soon and the bill would be charged to the room. And that's it. No information about the cost, no question if the price was acceptable for us - nothing. And this kind of trickery was evident everywhere and in everything. Overall, we liked it here.

Stayed in Tam Coc as part of a two night Ninh Binh visit (not long enough btw, I regret not doing 4 especially for those who want some down time) and stayed in a double suite with balcony overlooking the street and down to the water. The building is aged Vietnamese glam and the room was older but was exceptionally large with lounge area, desk and stool and a large comfy bed. The scenery is amazing (once you look past the construction opposite - welcome to Vietnam) and the service level was strong. We organised transfers to Trang An caves (a must do) and a jeep tour all around. No issue staying here again.

Initially I was attracted to book one of the small bungalow hotels in Tam Coc which looked lovely but on taking into account the low temperatures in northern Vietnam in winter I finally decided to book a bricks and mortar hotel as I thought it would offer more comfort if it was cold or wet. Turned out to be a sound decision. It was barely into double figures and quite windy during our three night stay. Being in the town suited us too, easy to reach shops and restaurants and the waterside. It would be lovely to stay there in a different season so that you can appreciate the swimming pool. On arrival we were met by two receptionists, one of whom speaks good English, we were given a welcome drink and snacks, a map and explanation of the area and shown to our room which was on the top floor. Room 302 is spacious, well furnished with plenty of storage, equipped with kettle and tea tray, mini bar and armchairs. The bathroom is also spacious with new fittings. There’s constant hot water but you need to take care in the shower because the floor tiles are definitely NOT nonslip. The balcony is tiny and the doors open outward so you have to squeeze through but we managed to sit out and enjoy a drink on our last day which was a bit milder. The view of the mountains is off to the right; directly in front is a yard full of construction rubble and the old bus that serves as a bar. It’s lit up at night but a bit ugly in daylight. Our only issue was that the reversible a/c really didn’t heat the room and we found it chilly to sit around except on our last day. The staff tried their best to adjust it but I think it just isn’t adequate for rooms with high ceilings in cold weather. In fact throughout Tam Coc with most restaurants and bars open to the elements you can reckon on eating in your outerwear and/or sitting round a smoky fire pit. The breakfast at the hotel was good with plenty of choice, fruit, breads and pastries, basic cereals on the buffet and hot selection cooked to order. The staff kindly made me fresh tea every day instead of from the vacuum flask. All staff were kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We asked reception to arrange taxis on two days to reach the places of interest and our transfer to Hanoi airport. Both worked out well. What we hadn’t appreciated was that Tam Coc is very much on the gap year/ backpacker itinerary so if like us you are of an older demographic you might wish to avoid the bungalow resorts with their dorm rooms, pool tables, DJs and other noise inducing activities and opt for the quiet and comfort of this place.

The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. The lobby is nice. The pool area is nice. Although the pool is very cold in the winter. There's also a nice little koi pond. The reason for the poor review is the services that they connected us with. First, they connected us with a tour guide that was not very good. She would stop talking to us and take personal phone calls throughout the tour. She would just talk to the driver and not tell us anything during the car rides. Even when we tried to give her attention to ask a question. For a private tour, they were very inflexible. We hired them for the day. But because we changed one stop they refused to add another. So we were back by 2:00 p.m. Even though we paid for the day. They lost some pieces of clothing in the laundry. They told us it couldn't have been them and that we just didn't put it in the laundry. I'm 100% sure that at least some of it was in there. As I now don't have any athletic socks left.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Tam Coc on a peaceful side street. Great rooms, pool (not heated but we swam every day and loved it), The staff were lovely - in particular Phuc was welcoming and very helpful. Never known cooked breakfast orders to appear so quickly and be so good - very impressive.

Totally enjoyed our stay, Phuc and staff were a delight . Phuc was so attentive and very hard working, an inspiration to all. Great day trips organised for us at reception .The Ninh Binh Bear Sanctuary was the reason we came to Tam Coc, but we discovered a relaxing Vietnamese village like atmosphere, that also catered for the younger generation at night. The hotel is more boutique and personal than the big hotels, clean and very comfortable. Great breakfast , free bikes and the town felt safe to bike around in , just not as traffic as some places. Thanks Phuc and staff for a memorable stay in your beautiful country . Jodie and Damien , Australia, Tasmania

We had a wonderful stay with Phuc and the team. The rooms were lovely and spotlessly clean. The pool area was the perfect place to relax. Tam Coc is such a beautiful place to visit. It is a much slower pace but still so much to see and do, and also eat. The highlight of my stay had to be Phuc. He was always available to answer any questions we had and seamlessly made any arrangements for us. I hope I get to come back.

From the moment we arrived until we left, Phuc took care of all our needs. We were welcomed like old friends, he arranged a birthday cake for my sister and sent us away with water and snacks for our train journey. Phuc is truly a great asset for this establishment and is a gem. I highly recommend this hotel.
