The front desk service, room amenities, and breakfast were decent, but not as amazing as online reviews suggested. The hotel wasn't renovated in recent years, but it's well-maintained and better suited for those who value the hotel's amenities. Because there's an elementary school downstairs, I wouldn't recommend it for those who wake up late, especially outside of holidays. Jiajiayue and Niujie are a 7-8 minute walk away. For places like Kuanzhai Alley and Dazhao Temple, I recommend taking a taxi; the hotel is conveniently located in a small alley, making it easy to hail a taxi and turn around.
The reason I have to give it a bad review is that the room directly opposite the elevator had a large, enclosed space that could fit several people. I checked in in the afternoon, left all my belongings at the hotel, and only discovered the door when I returned from dinner. It was truly unsettling. A room with such a potential safety hazard should not be sold to any hotel guest, or at least the hotel should have asked if the guest minded and reminded them to check the room immediately upon entering.
