Our second visit and we have booked to go back in 2025. With so many repeaters you need to book early to grab the date you want. It's only a small place maybe 24 rooms but right on Holetown beach attached to a super bar and restaurant. It has a good kitchenette and is opposite a supermarket so you can eat in the room on the balcony with no troubles. Barbados is no longer a cheap place and most seemed to mix and match eating in and out to save some of their spending money. It's in need of a little TCL but the rooms are good enough for the money BUT the location is excellent. Holetown is a great place to holiday

Lovely hotel with the added benefit of being able to do some self catering. Immaculately clean and very friendly staff. Thank you for making our first trip to Barbados so special. Previous reviews comment on the size of the pool but with the beach so close the pool is a bonus for cooling down.

Third stay at Tropical Sunset. Some what disappointed this stay. Same great location. Cant beat its proximity to pick up essentials and food. Can beat its location next to many restaurants and bars.1St and 2nd St are an easy walk. Lime Grove Mall right there.  Cant beat the view and sunsets. Cant beat the calm water and the ability to walk the beach to the right or left.  Unfortunately the actual accommodation left a bit to be desired. Our last stay just before covid they were due to shut down and renovate. At the time I was a bit sad as surely this meant that the rates would go up. Its good and bad that it didn't happen. Rates are still the same and for me that's good. The bad is that I did find it quite tired. More so than my last stay in Jan 2020. Dealing with a tight budget its the best deal for the money. Check in was easy and friendly. We did have to ask for help with out 50lb bag. No help was offered. Two welcome drink coupons for the bar at Zaccios. We were in room 10 on the second floor. The room was clean. Cant complain about cleanliness. Kitchen area had appropriate kitchen items. Coffee maker has a reusable filter. Ice cube trays in freezer. Bathroom has newer shower with rainfall shower head. There are no outlets in the bathroom and its very small. Towels were decent. We found a hairdryer in the cabinet under the TV.  Decent size closet with 10 hangers. Two twin beds. Not very comfortable. The sheets were really old. Such as rough really old. Glad I brought my own pillow case. Two blankets that were in the closet. Very old scratchy wool blankets. The room has a table with two chairs. Older table, older table cloth that again is clean just tired. Do bring something so that you have access to more outlets. There are no luggage stands to put luggage. We used the table and the dresser top. AC was perfect and never a problem with the hot water. Toilet did clog twice and was addressed. Smoke detector beeped during the night and we took it down. Likely batteries and no big deal. Balcony nice. Table and chair with ashtray. It does get hot as the sun sets. Wish the balcony rail was not solid so the view would be more open. When sitting down you lose the view.  Some new sheets, new blankets. Some fresh paint. Just a little bit of love I think would make a huge difference. I am not looking for luxury. A room is a room and I am not in Barbados to enjoy my room. Though I do feel it should be comfortable and sleep is important. Outlets should be coinvent. Finding a place to put your suitcase should not be a hassle.  Would I stay again...maybe. I am not sure. I also don't like the no refund policy. Especially now after covid some kind of refund policy would be a kind thing to offer. Most accommodations offer full or partial refunds. You can change dates which they did with no problem. Mark the night shift security is awesome. Curly who assists with chairs is great. Happy to see those familiar faces from my previous stays.

Good beach access and sunset view as name suggests. Casual dining next door and supermarket opposite. Friendly staff and good cocktail bar for sundowner. Quiet in evening which we liked.

This stay was a 5 star all around for us. The Tropical Sunset could not be better placed in holetown . It’s right on a beautiful beach that you can walk for miles and right in town with groceries and restaurants right there. All the rooms here have balconies with stunning ocean views. Though you are conveniently situated at the main road for busing/driving anywhere on the island, the rooms don’t hear noise from the road at all. This is an adorable and cozy spot with lovely staff who went out of their way for us each and every day. The beach and sunset views are steps away. Zaccios restaurant and bar is steps away for happy hour and a good meal. Surf side beach bar is right next door. Our little kitchenette and the onsite barbecue allowed us to also cook for ourselves some nights and to have coffee and breakfast in privacy on our waterfront balcony. The Ac worked well. The water was hot in the shower. Everything was clean and well maintained. There was good security with fobs to swipe into the hotel and the room areas. We felt very safe and comfortable. You can snorkel right out front and all of the turtle tours stop in this area so no need to go anywhere to see some great Oceanlife! The staff was extremely thoughtful in helping arrange an anniversary surprise for us and they were always very kind and helpful. Unlike some other places we visited, staff at this hotel and restaurant seemed very happy and cheerful which was lovely to see. This is a place you can make yourself at home. It’s not extreme luxury if you want marble showers and high pampering but it has more than what you need and was exactly right for us and we would stay there every time we came to Barbados . The only one thing to be aware of is that there are stairs to be climbed so if you have accessibility issues you would want to book the ground floor and your patio will be by the pool. We fully recommend a stay here for awesome location and beautiful views from your waterfront balcony.

We enjoyed our two week stay immensely.  Our second floor room was simple but had everything we needed.  Especially the view!  We spent a fair amount of time sitting on our balcony watching the sea and enjoying the birds.  A wee finch came to visit us often, along with the occasional blackbird.  We saw parakeets and pelicans and seabirds.  Even bats at night. The pool area isn't fancy but definitely served our needs.  We prefer a table with chairs over loungers, but being low season, we had a choice of using either. The adjacent Zaccios offered decent food and excellent drinks.  Although we usually brought our own drinks from our studio, we did succumb to happy hour!  It was especially convenient to have a private bar counter on the pool side from which to order. The beach was narrow but the water was usually calm and enjoyable. There is a clearly marked swimming area, although no lifeguards.  Beach loungers and umbrellas are free for hotel guests. The public beach access was just to the north of the property where you can rent jet skis or arrange tours.  Sometimes unfortunately, a petrol smell would come from there. We watched a lot of boats out on the water, and oh those amazing sunsets. But wonderfully, there weren't nearly the amount of biting bugs as anticipated. I usually get eaten alive so this respite was spectacular. The convenience of having the Massy supermarket directly across the street cannot be understated.  Once we tried the hot food from the deli at the back, we understood the lineups for it.  Amazing value and selection.  I admit we usually bought it early (hot foods are ready starting at 11) and then warmed it up after sunset for supper. We also enjoyed Surfside, Just Grillin', and a special birthday meal at the Tides along with Zaccios all very nearby hotel.  And we liked the homey Fishermans Pub in Speightstown. We did an island tour with Ted's tours, highly recommended.  We did a small group adults only catamaran sail and snorkel day with Calabaza, which was excellent.  Through Beautiful Barbados Tours and Excursions, we visited the simply amazing Harrison's cave, and did a fun snorkel tour with Tranquility cruises aboard a glass bottom boat. The only downside to our accommodation was the lighting.  It was very dim after sunset, which makes getting ready for a night out a little tough. On Sunday evenings, you can catch a steel band at the nearby Surfside. Overall, we found our studio was great value for money and we would certainly stay here in future trips to Barbados.

This Apartment Hotel has the perfect location. We didn't leave the compound because it was our vacation on our home island and all we wanted was relaxation. We stayed at the ground floor with direct access to the pool and just a few steps to the beach. We took long walks along the board walk and the beach. We eat at the restaurant connected to the apartment building. Zaccios Restaurant with beautiful sunsets right at your dining table. The staff was great and all over we felt so relaxed when our staycation was over. We will go there again.

We had a fantastic 10 days here recently. The location can’t be beaten - right on the beach with free sunbeds and towels available daily. Close to the supermarket and lots of restaurants are within walking distance. All rooms have a sea view so you get the benefit of beautiful sunsets each night. The rooms are quite spacious and the beds are comfortable. Linen and towels clean and changed regularly. The staff here are fantastic- nothing is too much trouble and they are very helpful( Curly and his team are great- they will look after you on the beach and around the pool). Lots of people return to this hotel year after year and I can understand why - we will certainly book again. The hotel is a bit dated and so are the kitchens in the room -so probably not the best place if you want to cook lots of meals although is it perfectly adequate overall with a large fridge freezer/ kettle / toaster and hob.
