We had an absolutely wonderful time at Mango Bay. We were unlucky that near the end the tides were strong and the water was rough. So we weren't able to go on the Catamaran or do as many water sports as we liked. We did get to try water skiing which was so fun, thank you Gerry! The Mango Bay Staff went above and beyond for us. The staff were lovely especially thier lovely Damian who without faill worked with a smile on his face and full energy everyday! He really made our holiday special and made sure we never went thirsty! We can't go without a speacial mention of Rayden as well who worked tirelessly on that beach making sure all were taken care of. One night the Manager spoke to us and when she found out we were recently married she made sure we had a beautiful private dinner on the beach! A wonderful suprise! This place really thrives off kindness and mutual respect. The staff work hard and it's something that did not go unnoticed or was underappreciated! This is not a 5 star but you can not beat the location. If you want to visit Barbados within your budget but still on the most beautiful part of the island. This place is for you! In regards to the comments of noise on the weekends, please do listen to the word of caution. Me and my partner are used to busy atmospheres whilst sleeping so it did not bother us but please if you are light sleepers spend the extra money and make sure you are on the quieter side of the hotel. Food was great and I felt nourished after every meal. There is so much more I could say! Thank you Mango Bay for a wonderful holiday ! We will be back!

We were very disappointed with this hotel. It started upon arrival as reception staff were not very welcoming and we were handed a lot of papers some of which we had to sign to absolve the hotel from responsibility if there was a problem. There was also a sheet telling us not to reserve beach beds and that the staff would remove towels if this was done! Surprise, this did not happen. Beach beds too close together and old. The room was tired, the door to the bathroom stuck on the floor and was not fixed despite reporting it the first day and the sliding wardrobe doors required two hands to slide them. The hotel is set side on to the beach so few rooms face the sea but look over the pool or bar/restaurant area. Breakfast was a self service buffet and often there was a lack of bowls and plates. The food was disappointing, small portions and not very appetising. I did not enjoy my meals. Restaurant servers were bubbly and smiling. The main bar staff were very sullen, never greeting you with a smile just taking your order. The bar area itself is long and narrow so if people were sat at the bar and some on the tables alongside you could not get through. The two beach boys who delivered drinks to the beach were very different, smiling, helpful and one always spinning his tray and wearing odd socks each day. There was entertainment some nights which varied. Some singers were good and the stiltwalker was typical Barbados, great. We will be back to Barbados but not to the Mango Bay.

We were there in Feb/March 2024 – me and my wife plus my son and daughter-in-law. We had 2 beachfront rooms up on the 3rd floor and what a view! Given that plus the lack of noise from 1st street these are definitely worth the upgrade, even if a bit pricey. The property is well laid out, easy to get from any building to pool/bar/restaurant and on a fabulous stretch of beach, with lots of bars, restaurants etc. close by if you want to explore a little. It could definitely do with a little bit of TLC in some areas but that didn’t really detract too much. The staff definitely make a huge difference. If I could name them all it would be a long list! Special mentions to Kyle, Dale, Damien (great energy!), Rayden, Darnelle, Annette (x2), Ronald, Shamah (sp?), Tianne (sp?), Anderson and Nikolai. Probably the biggest gripe is having to get up early to grab a bed and parasol on the beach – the beds are stacked up at the end of every day and then put out again every morning sometime between 7am and 7.30am (not sure why they do this). There was always one of us up early to organise ours so it was manageable, but if you were up post 08.30 then the beach would have been a challenge to get a bed and parasol. Not so the pool area, but I think Barbados is all about the beach! The beach is beautiful. You can choose to walk both ways for quite some distance and rarely bothered by people selling things, but a polite “no thanks” always closed that down when you wished. Swimming was easy and snorkelling off the reefs they had created was excellent with a colourful array of fish and turtles. Seeing the stingrays and tarpon was an experience and sometimes when out snorkelling a tarpon would pass close by so you got a better look a these larger fish. The watersports is quite limited in what is available and although I have sailed a hobie cat in many parts of the Caribbean they weren’t happy to let you out on your own – I believe there is a worldwide licencing system and you had to produce one to go on your own. Everything else was very good. A great selection of food at breakfast and dinner. You soon get used to booking a time for lunch and dinner when you go for breakfast and you generally get what you want. Drinks at the bar were mostly local stuff but still a good range of “top-shelf” although surprisingly a lack of (Mount ***) rum options – just the 1 usually! As I mentioned, food was good to great. You can’t really go wrong at breakfast and dinner was quite varied and equally tasty. I didn’t always have lunch but those who did said it was good and you have always got the bar snacks menu which provides a selection of the usual stuff. You soon get used to having to select a time for your lunch and dinner at breakfast and if you want to change it later in the day that was rarely a problem too. Entertainment was average to good, with the odd problem around sound and WiFi. The WiFi was good on our 1st week but the 2nd week something obviously went wrong with the WiFi an

This was our 2nd visit. The hotel is situated on a lovely beach in a beautiful bay where you can walk for miles. Check in was very quick and provided us with a rum punch. Had to wait about half an hour for our room so went to the bar. Young lady fetched us and we were very surprised to find we had been given a room upgrade to the deluxe rooms on 4th floor, along with a bottle of bubbly and a Welcome Back card. How nice of them! Settled in just in time for the lovely sunset and cocktails with music. The room was very spacious lots of space for clothes and a good sized bathroom with a louvred window if you wished to open it and look at the view whilst showering. The housekeeping was spot on by Ms Cave, lovely lady and we got very friendly with her. Our air con was leaking one day and was dealt with immediately by maintenance. Nice to have the nightly turn down service if you wanted it. Meals good, sometimes a bit too spicy for me, but plenty of choice and never had the same menu twice during our 2 weeks. Damien and Raydon never let you get thirsty on the beach and both nice lads, Damien is a laugh with his odd socks and antics. Another bar lad Dale, got to know us and also a nice chap. We liked the Saturday Sundowner, again with good entertainment. The nightly singers were good, especially Mr Impact. It’s just a pity there are not more tables and chairs for the entertainment as they soon get full so people just sit at the bar and I felt a bit sorry the the singers who must have felt they were singing to about half a dozen people. The people in the bar area missed out on some very good singers and if they bothered to stay near they would have had a good dance with Mr Impact, one of the best entertainers on the island. Our first week was mainly the older generation like us and was nice, quiet and peaceful. But come the 2nd week the children arrived. We thought they didn’t break up for Easter till later in the week so have either been taken out of school or get different holiday times. That changed everything, blow up games and footballs in the pool, running round when food was being carried to tables, I’m surprised there wasn’t an accident. Yet there were 2 little brothers who sat with parents and sat drawing, very well behaved, shows how they were brought up. Had a good half day trip to Flower Forest and St Nicholas Abbey round the distillery, it was very interesting. All in all we had another nice stay, weather was hot all day and night with 2 heavy showers with soon passed. We sprayed mosquito spray in the room and on ourselves and hubby didn’t get bit like he usually does yet I got 8 bites and I never usually do. We were just being wary of the Dengue. So in the end, would we return, yes no doubt about it but nowhere near any school holidays!

Booked all inclusive at this hotel and it exceeded it's 4 stars. The food was tasty and they had a menu for lunch and dinner which was a nice touch. The cocktails were amazing and really made the holiday special. The beach location was perfect and plenty of sunbeds so you were not fighting for one. The sea was lovely and calm and as it was my first time swimming in the sea I felt confident. Watching the sunset every evening was the best. Air conditioning in all the rooms was amazing and a relief from the 30 degree heat. Rooms were comfortable and the only issue we encountered was the constant noise of the tree frogs who would start the minute the sun set and did not stop till the sun rise. The activities list for the week is really good and I really enjoyed my yoga and aqua class. However, the gym wasn't huge. I liked the invitation to the horse racing, although we weren't informed of this till the middle of the week and we had already booked an excursion. Some of staff members were very friendly and clearly loved their jobs and the customers. The entertainment was good, but the fire eater was amazing. You could book a taxi from the hotel if you wanted to go anywhere, however, I did find the taxi's very expensive. In fact most things you buy in this particular area (Hole town) is very expensive. I bought a bottle of rum and could have got it £10 cheaper in the UK.

My wife and I just returned from a 10 night break at Mango Bay. We had a warm greeting on arrival and check in was simple and fast. We stayed in a standard room 401 which was clean and had a nice view over the pool area. The location is great and Holetown is one of the nicest parts of the Island in our opinion. The staff were friendly and helpful, a special tjankyou to the Manager Sheridda and to Abeena and Ashlee on reception. The food was excellent every day with lots of choice and the staff were attentive and helpful. The place has a warm feel to it and we met some lovely people. It is a very sociable place. The beach is gorgeous and snorkeling was great. Loads of Jet skis and other things to do if you wanted. On a down side the hotel does feel in need of a refresh particularly the bar and restaurant area but this won't stop us returning. The catamaran trip is included and was ok but I'd recommend doing a bigger one of you want comfort and some island info. All in all a fabulous time and looking forward to returning soon.
