British country hotel, simple folk customs! Safety. It's just that the water in the shower in the room is too fine, and the water cannot be removed well, and it's blocked! Great English breakfast!

Comfortable bed
Building is a bit run down but bedroom and bed was very comfortable indeed. Staff friendly, great breakfast too. Central location adjacent to Selby Abbey.

Wee Gem
Our stay at the George was lovely. The rooms are a little dated but the comfort was fab, the staff were extremely helpful and kind, breakfast lovely and location great. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Stop over on the way to York
We stayed as a family of 4. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. There is free parking on site, just confirm your registration at reception. We had a great breakfast that was included in the price. We were very pleased with our stay and would definitely consider returning if we are in the area.

The George is an old property, and it feels like it needs an injection of TLC, it has wallpaper coming off in areas.
The rooms are tired and dated.
However, the staff are really friendly and helpful, the town of Selby has lost its charm. The Abbey is spectacular and the concert there was brilliant.
