GGuest UserThis is the first time staying at this hotel. It is about 10 mins from Universal Studio and they have a free shuttle to take you there (7am and 8am) and one free shuttle back at night about 9:30pm. I do not speak Mandarin and paying with my WeChat and Alipay without a China phone number was not working for me so calling taxi and ordering food was difficult. Thanks to the hostess (园儿姐) things went smoothly. She sent her contact, shuttle bus info and the hotel passcode via WeChat. When I need to order food, she allow us to order food via her phone as she waited patiently for us. When we reimburse her for the food, we gave her a bit more money because she waited for over half an hour for us to order but she insist not a penny more. On our last day out, we left the hotel very early in the morning as we tried to get a taxi ourselves since the hostess was not in yet but we ended up having to WeChat her for help. The hostess told us not to worry because she can order a taxi for us. We told her we were waiting at the same spot where the shuttle bus to Universal Studio picked us. She actually ran all the way from her home ( she lived approx. half an hour away) to where we were and waited with us until we got on to the taxi and she spoke to the taxi driver in Mandarin so he knows which airport to take us to.Honestly, where do you get this kind of service? The hostess speaks a bit of English ( she is taking courses to improve her English) but if we don’t understand each other, we use Alipay translated or the translation app on her phone. I definitely will come back again. Oh, FYI, the hostess do not enter your room to clean unless she have your permission which is great because I do not need cleaning everyday. They also provide disposable face and bath towel which I don’t mind because you know it is sanitary. She also greet you with a nice big plate of watermelon even when our plane was delayed by 4 hours and we did not arrive till approximately 11pm (she waited for us). I think if we would have set up our WeChat with a Chinese SIM card life would have been easier. We only got a Chinese SIM card after we left Summer House. After that, ordering food, calling taxi and making mobile payment was possible. I am grateful that the hostess went out of her way for us else we would have no idea how to order food. Hope this info help.

GGuest UserIn this fast-paced era, it is rare to find a corner where the soul can rest. I decided to take a private bath temporarily and searched for Zhaohua. From the moment I stepped into the store, I was deeply attracted by the unique temperament here. The design of the homestay cleverly combines traditional and modern elements, retaining the quaint charm of the old house while retaining a sense of fashion. The layout of the room is warm and elegant, the bedding is comfortable, and it feels like home. It was late at night when we checked in, and it was raining. The staff was warm, thoughtful and meticulous, and they did not show displeasure because we arrived late. Opening the window, listening to the dripping rain and watching a movie in bed is very healing! The private bath water temperature is suitable, the bathing pool is clean and has a faint smell of disinfectant. I have always attached importance to hygiene issues, which makes me feel at ease.

GGuest UserAbsolutely thrilled with my stay! The ambiance and cleanliness were top-notch. They offered breakfast options and even provided shuttle service to Universal Studios. The host was incredibly proactive, calling to confirm our room and then setting up a group chat for seamless communication about everything. Any necessities we requested, like disposable towels or extra hangers, were provided incredibly quickly. The only minor issue was that the bathroom drainage was a bit slow during showers, causing some water to pool. However, this is genuinely the best place I've ever stayed, and I would absolutely choose it again if I return! (I've included a picture of the breakfast; it was absolutely delicious!)

AAnonymous UserStayed for 2 nights in Oct 2024, planned for 1 night to visit around the town itself and another night for the Simatai Great Wall.
1. Location - Inn is located within Gubei Watertown and it is necessary to go through the watertown to visit the Simatai Great Wall. By booking an accommodation within the town gives you discounted entrance price into the town and since we planned to visit the great wall and explore the town itself we have decided to stay for 2 nights (also partly the cost and time to travel there from Beijing). Inn is located near the main square where some performances are held and near a shuttle service stop (free shuttle services within town if you’re staying in an accommodation within town. Overall a good location within town.
2. Room - Booked a family room for 4 (2 single beds in each level). Room is mostly made of wood hence its not really a modern feel and its not really sound-proof which the staff has notified in advance. Room is spacious and bathroom is big. Stairs that goes up to the 2nd level is stable but can be a little steep for seniors. Overall the room is decent. It comes with tomatoes, peanuts and tea as welcome gift.
3. Luggage - There’s a luggage service whereby you can arrange for your luggage to be transported to your hotel from entrance, and from hotel back to entrance. This is definitely needed as the ground in the watertown is not a smooth surface and can be hard to carry your luggages around.
4. Services & breakfast - Staff’s services is really good and efficient! Breakfast is simple but has good variety. There’s the buffet portion which consists of small dishes for porridge, bread, bun, drinks etc. And there’s an alacarte portion where you need to order in advance the night before such as bacon, egg, sausages, noodles etc. i think its a good initiative to avoid wastage.
Overall a very good stay and would recommend if you are visiting Gubei Watertown and would like to stay in a more traditional feel.

GGuest User⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Stay with Outstanding Hospitality!
We had a wonderful experience at this hotel in Beijing! From the very beginning, the host was incredibly helpful and proactive—she contacted us a day before arrival with clear instructions, making the check-in process smooth. Even though our flight was delayed past midnight, she kindly waited for us and ensured we got settled without any hassle.
The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated in a cozy style. We especially loved the great view of the Workers’ Stadium- it added a nice touch to our stay. The owner also provided thoughtful amenities and drinking water, which made us feel well taken care of.
We highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional service, comfort, and attention to detail. Thank you for making our trip to Beijing so pleasant—we’d definitely stay here again!

Very Good
GGuest UserChecked in this hotel for 2 nights. No bus or private cars can passing thru the security gates to go inside your hotel. All have to unload at the main bus or taxi station outside of the Gubei Watertown. The gate is only open only after 8 or 830am. Once reached the bus station. Take the shuttle or feeder van at the bus station and go to the entrance main square to register and check in at the common counter for your hotel stays. The staff will prepare some hot local tea for you. Just register yourself with the staff and then follow the gubei Watertown on WeChat in order to know the free programmes available for public on their daily schedule. You can actually ask the reception to call the hotel if the room is available for check in. Otherwise you can drop your luggage and the bell boys will send it to your hotel after 30mins, which is pretty fast. The path in the gubei water town isn't the normal tar tar road. Pulling your luggages inside the gubei town might damage your luggage wheels. After the luggage arrangement, we were required to do a facial scanning at gate entrance so that next time do not require to use the ticket but only facial scanning. However , 7the hotel provides free two entrance ticket to gubei water town, 2 free entrance ticket to get to Simatai Great Wall of China (exclude the cable cars two ways that cost 200RMB) and two discounted tickets for hot spring at a designated hot spring club. Upon reaching your hotel. You have to register again opposite the building to get your room key and they will help you to carry your bags to your hotel room. The hotel itself has so many steps. We were given the room 618 free upgrade on the top floor overlooks the outside scenery. The room has a aircon that can serve hot and cold air. The hotel has a window but can't be opened. The room has hair dryer, free tea, free tooth pastes and toothbrush, free slipper , free fruits and free daily mineral water. The hotel said the pipe was is safe to drink. The hotel provides with good TV channels in mandarin. We enjoyed the tv channels drama. You can take the free shuttle inside the gubei water town by showing the driver the yellow registration form of residence. Keep this registration form as you need to show it to the hot spring club to get discounted price ticket to get in the hot spring for the price of 68RMB ( instead of normal price is 278 RMB). The hot water shower is very refreshing but however the cigarette smokes from outside of the toilet window can go inside the bathroom and making the whole room smell like a cigarette room! We need to shut the toilet room. The hotel reception will scan you WeChat QR code to ask you to order breakfast via the apps before 9pm for tomorrow breakfast. You need to book a specific time slot for breakfast from 730am, 8am and 830am onwards. There were quite a lots of variety for breakfast ranging from porridge, eggs, fruits, breads, noodles, milk, soya beans, dumping soups and lots of baozi. Definitely worth to stay at this hotel as it is accessible to Simatai great wall in 10-15mins, to the fountain show in 8mins, drone performance at Riyuedao Square
日月岛广场 around 10mins walk. The hotel is also super close to the drop off shuttle van station (日月岛站) by walking less than 5mins. In short, I will strongly recommend to stay at this hotel.

Good
GGuest UserHotel was very clean. Was in a good location where it was near a lot of bus lines and some grocery stores. Excellent view from the city in where I was at. Washer was very good in how it washes the clothing well. Clothesline is in an excellent area in her house near the kitchen where it dries the clothes very quick in like 2 days!
The owner can be a little shady at times as well as her workers that works for her. I really didn't like how she moved me back and forth to her other house on the 2nd and 3rd days of my stay back to the first house on the first day, under the story that I was a special guests. More like she is trying to get maximum usage of the room that I was in where she was able to move me to her dingy house which wasn't being occupied by anyone at the moment. It was very disruptive where I couldn't go out sighseeing very well on those days. Thank god this was done to me when I was already on the last week of my trip where I didn't need to travel to anymore famous attraction in Beijing and was ready to leave.
I really hated the way that I was feeling like I was being rushed by her younger 2nd worker with the bleached brown hair to hurry up and pack to move to the other house. I felt really irritated by him at times! Her other worker was friendly and ok. I really wanted to do it by myself and then move to the other house.
She also gave me a bunch of torn and tattered bills when she gave me back my deposit. What is with that?
I am mad with her but yet feel sorry for her that she has to do multiple businesses to survive like cleaning other people's clothing and a grocery store because of her economic situation where she is forced to do these underhanded tactics to survive as well as most other people in China that have to deal with a similiar situation.
Hopefully we won't have to live in a world like this soon that is so cruel.

GGuest UserThe first time I came to Mutianyu Great Wall, I looked for hotels around it on Ctrip. The pictures of this hotel were quite attractive and the price was not expensive, so I booked it. I was shocked when I entered the gate. The environment was very good. I entered the room. It was amazing. Two big beds were so comfortable for three people. The yard was as beautiful as the pictures. The key is that there were animals. This was the first time I saw them. There were also slides and trampolines for children to play. There was also a swimming pool but it was not filled with water. The big platform was also amazing, with small bridges and flowing water. Although the breakfast was not a buffet, it was also very rich. We ordered lunch separately. We had two meals of three dishes for less than 200 yuan. It was super cost-effective. The taste was also good, but it was a little salty (personal feeling). The front desk lady and other staff were very warm and simple. Opposite the hotel, there was a coffee restaurant, etc. The environment was also great. This is the first choice for coming to Mutianyu Great Wall!

AAleFragolaIt is an okay accommodation for a one night stay near the airport.
The room was big and clean, however all the plugs are Chinese plugs and they only provide an adaptor with a paying service that you have to scan and rent/pay, which I found a bit annoying.
They did not provide bottles of water, although I saw a water dispenser at the entrance.
The woman that contacted me on trip to ask me at what time my check in was and that brought me to the airport is friendly, however I do not like that the reception is always empty and that you have to call them to come and check you in/out, cause late at night people would arrive and shout in the corridor to have someone come at the reception.
I read on previous comments that it was not easy to get a taxi from there at the airport in the early morning so I decided to have them organise my transportation at the airport at 5am, paying 50rmb (double the price that a normal didi would be). I know that the room is cheap, but at this point I am not sure that saving on this type of accomodation is worth it.
