What a fantastic room! Finding a hotel in Hong Kong for my business trip was a real headache. The decent ones are incredibly expensive, and the cheaper options are basically glorified hostels – not only are they in poor condition, but they also feel unsafe. After endlessly browsing, I stumbled upon The Pulse. I carefully read through both the positive and negative reviews, and it seemed like the negative ones were mostly about minor issues, not the hotel itself. So, I decided to give it a try. Aside from the location being a bit far out, I honestly couldn't find any faults with this hotel.
The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, and all the staff were friendly. The room itself was amazing! I was given the 'Little Penguin' themed room, which was adorable. The room was spotless, and the bathroom and bedding were exceptionally clean and tidy. The bathroom was quite spacious for Hong Kong standards and felt brand new. I also found the room to be a decent size for Hong Kong, even though I saw some people complaining about small rooms. I've stayed in hotels in the city center before, and those were truly tiny. Given Hong Kong's land constraints, you can't expect hotels to be as large as five-star hotels back home in mainland China. Personally, I found it perfectly acceptable.
While the location is a bit out of the way, transportation is very convenient. It's just a three to four-minute walk to the hotel from the Tuen Mun MTR station. If you're looking for food, there's a mall about a seven to eight-minute walk away with plenty of options, which is super convenient. If you're not in a huge rush or overly concerned about the exact location, I genuinely think The Pulse offers incredible value for money. I'm so glad I stumbled upon and stayed at such a wonderful hotel; it's definitely left me with a fantastic impression of my Hong Kong trip.
