Johnson Hostel

The room was small but cozy. It was cleaned daily, and towels were changed upon request. The location is excellent, very close to the MTR, and you can even walk to the waterfront (about an hour). There's also a fruit market nearby (on the street next to Fish Street) with delicious and inexpensive fruit. There was plenty of hot water for three people (the room had its own water heater). The reception desk had everything you might need, including a hairdryer and hot drinking water. We stayed in February, and the room was very comfortable without air conditioning; we didn't get cold when we opened the windows. There are plenty of hangers in the room, and it was convenient to hang and dry a few small items in the bathroom (there's a bar near the ceiling). We pushed the beds together and slept comfortably next to our child (to prevent falling), while my husband slept on the top bunk. The bed length was perfectly comfortable for someone 180cm tall. I recommend this place for a stay in Hong Kong – it's clean, conveniently located, and has a charming, homey feel (like staying at a childhood dacha). Wi-Fi worked perfectly.

The place is in Mong Kok, right downstairs from the street, which is super convenient. Splitting a few hundred HKD a night with a friend is really good value in Hong Kong. The landlady is very nice, and it's quite good value for money. Friends on a tighter budget could definitely choose to stay here, it's very convenient. It's also easy to take the East Rail Line back to Shenzhen, as Mong Kok East is just nearby.

The room isn't big, which is normal for Hong Kong where space is at a premium. It was clean and hygienic, and the location is super convenient, right by the MTR station. You step out and there's all sorts of food. The facilities are complete, and the service was excellent. I'd definitely choose this place again.

The room was too small; I couldn't even fully open my suitcase, which made getting things out incredibly inconvenient.
