Hong Kong Kwun Tong District 4-star Hotels

The hotel is Very clean and close to the metro station. There’s also a direct bus from and to the airport (A22/A29). Buffet breakfast serves continental breakfast from 7:30-10. Nice view of the harbour is a huge plus!

Good room size. Clean bathroom. Comfortable shower. All the basic you would need. Modern design too. Somehow the room is very humid even when indoor temperature indicates 22 degrees. Slight security issue - the convenient store - I went there two nights to grab some drinks (after 10pm). It is supposed to be for hotel guests only - Entry from the hotel, and not from the street. For both nights, there were people speaking mandarin, trying to get in the store from the street (for which the door was locked). These people then got in the store as other goes out. Then they ask me to pay for them. I refused. And then when these people left the store, they head towards the street. Not sure if those were hotel guest.

Rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed. Elaine and colleague at front desk were most helpful with our party’s check in, giving useful info and much needed welcome after a long day of travelling. The hotel’s located is very accessible. Our taxis dropped us off right outside the hotel. There are 7/11s and restaurants right round the corner. Quiet street without any noise from the traffic.

For Hong Kong standards, the room was considered quite spacious. The layout was similar to rooms found in mainland China, just slightly smaller. It was very clean, and the bathroom was completely odor-free. The hotel breakfast was also decent. The location is convenient, just a few minutes' walk from the MTR station. For detailed directions: from Kwun Tong Station Exit A2, walk directly through the shopping mall. After passing the Hong Kong Trade Centre Service Centre, you'll exit onto Cheong Ming Street. Cross one more traffic light, and the hotel is just a short distance away. This indoor route is recommended as it was too hot to walk outside.

The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Kwun Tong MTR station and features a gym and a swimming pool. However, there were a few issues. The toilet had a problem, and staff came to fix it. The air conditioning only had two settings – either freezing cold or slightly warm – and was also quite noisy. I stayed for six consecutive nights and wanted to check out a day early, but the hotel refused. On a positive note, there's a Wah So Cafe nearby with delicious pineapple buns.

The hotel itself was quite clean. However, it's situated in an industrial area, which made it a bit hard to find, and the surroundings were noticeably less appealing than other parts of the city. Still, I'd say it offered decent value for money. My main complaint is that the room didn't come with complimentary water. While that's a minor point, charging 10 RMB for a generic brand mineral water bottle felt excessively expensive.
