Sonesta Simply Suites Houston Galleria Medical Center

When I first got to the hotel been driven there by uber, I didn't know how I was going to manage. I had my daughter who was just release from the hospital where she just had major surgery. I also had all these medical equipment and suitcase. This specific hotel has a little front lobby before entering the main one to check in. I manage to get everything including my daughter to the first lobby. Then when I was checking in I explain to the young lady at the front desk about my daughter situation and she immediately took action. The young lady was so friendly and helpful with my daughter. She assisted me by taking my daughter to the room in a wheelchair provide by the hotel. Which I didn't know the hotel did, but so grateful and appreciated because my daughter barely could stand. Since we had never stayed at this hotel chain, my concern was. what if the bed wasn't comfortable enough for my daughter. But on the contary, the beds and pillow were extra comfy, the room itself was clean. This hotel will be our place to stay because we still have follow up. So with this being said, I would like to personally thank the whole staff because just as friendly as the check in young lady was, so was the morning crew. Thank you Mr. Jose for having great staff. God willing see again in Dec. Ms C Diaz and Z Devora.

This hotel is in terrible condition. I give it one star just because the front desk staff was very nice and tried to accommodate me as much as possible despite the deficiencies of the hotel. The rooms had no bed cover, sheets only. No coffee maker, no hair dryer, no food, no plastic drinking glasses and the hallways had a very peculiar odor to them. Housekeeping was only available if you stayed 7 days or more. I could go on but I won't. Given the price I paid per night I felt that it was almost unfathomable that they were open for business.

I was here to attend a family gathering and got some work done in the process. Don't let the name (or Priceline's description of the location) fool you. This property is nowhere near the Texas Medical Center and getting to the Galleria from here is a royal pain. That said, Greenway Plaza is nearby. With that out of the way, the room itself was not bad at all. It was large, the bed was comfortable and the internet connection enabled me to get quite a bit done. The staff was helpful in that they provided ideas for where to grab something to eat (Even though I decided upon a Jack's Munchie Meal because I needed that fix.) The were also incredibly gracious. So, how did the washing machine do this property in? Well, it seemed that none of the washers could successfully complete a final spin cycle. As a result, clothes were drenched and took a lot of time to dry. The only consolation for that? Laundry is free. In spite of that, the overall value for the money was good. Would I stay here again? Unfortunately the location does not work for me (Your mileage may vary on that one) and I would plan on doing laundry elsewhere so call this one as a qualified yes (and the deal would have to be as good or better than the one I got.)
