After looking at various hotels in Huangshan, I ultimately chose Bright Summit, mainly because I didn't want to hike back and forth. Turns out, it was the perfect choice! Even though the facilities are a bit old, the room has no external window, and the amenities are simple, its location alone makes it worth it. Being able to step right out to watch the sunset, rainbows, and sunrise was incredible. We checked into Bright Summit in the afternoon, and after a thunderstorm, we witnessed an enormous double rainbow and a breathtaking sunset over the rolling mountains – it was absolutely stunning. If the weather's clear, you can even stargaze at night!

I visited Huangshan with my 70-something mother and my child. I wanted my mother to experience both the sunset and sunrise from Huangshan, and still have enough energy to see the Guest-Greeting Pine the next day. So, I decided to stay on the mountain top. The location is perfect for viewing the sea of clouds (云海) during sunset and sunrise, which I would've missed if it weren't for the spectacular service Hushan (胡珊) provided me. As soon as I checked in, she brought me and my younger siblings to our room and gave a detailed explanation of where everything was and how everything worked. Hushan provided us with complementary snacks, room slippers, fruits, and a free breakfast voucher for my youngest sibling who was under U18 - my siblings were overjoyed and we were all very grateful. We added each other's WeChat where she updated me on when to go out to catch the sunset and sunrise, which is how I managed to capture photos and brave the weather with the free puffer jackets the hotel provided us. Hushan even followed up with me after the events with professional videos filmed by hotel staff just in case I missed anything. Overall, my Guangmingding experience wouldn't have been the same without her!

This hotel is perfect for watching the sunrise and sunset! The service was excellent 👍. Staff member Hu Shan thoughtfully reminded us of the sunrise/sunset viewing times and the hotel's meal schedule 👍. They even gave us complimentary water when we checked out, so grateful 🌹.

I was a bit worried the room would be old and run down before I arrived, but it was actually quite nice and very clean. There were three down jackets in the room, also very clean. The 'Cloud Room' offers direct access to the rooftop platform to watch the sunrise and sunset. This was the most satisfying and surprising experience out of all my trips to Huangshan! Although the room was small, it was very clean and I felt completely at ease. The best part was that this time the room offered a view of the rolling mountains, and the scenery was beautiful. The housekeeper was also very thoughtful, constantly updating us on important information and the best times for viewing, and the complimentary fruit was delicious! I'll definitely go back if I get the chance!
