1. Facilities: It's clear this B&B has some design, but it's just a fancy shell. The room is large, but storage space is very limited, with only a chair for storage. There's nowhere to put or hang clothes after taking them off. The shower is large, but the water is around 35 degrees Celsius, making it impossible to shower. Even if you wanted to, there were no plastic slippers, and the shower floor was untreated, making it very cold to walk on bare feet. The staff said they could provide a pair of disposable slippers for washing in the shower. Anyone who has worn disposable hotel slippers knows how slippery they are when wet, making it easy to fall. I hope the staff will try it themselves. 2. Environment: Not all rooms have mountain views, and this isn't clearly stated on the property's website. Our room faced a wall (Figure 1), which was the back of the B&B, so there was no view. Furthermore, the B&B isn't closed off; visitors are welcome to come and go freely. From our room, we could constantly hear tourists and their children playing on the hanging chair in the next room (we don't understand why ours was the only room without one, but thankfully it wasn't). It was very noisy. 3. Service: The first and most difficult thing to understand was that after we arrived at the B&B, no one knew which room "25 up" we were supposed to be. The staff asked each other, but no one knew. Finally, one staff member called to find out which room "25 up" we were supposed to be and showed us in. Honestly, none of the rooms had address numbers, so I had no idea if I was actually staying in the room I'd booked; I just had to trust my trust. Secondly, the food: We had pre-booked a barbecue lunch for 99 yuan per person in the group chat, but when we arrived, it wasn't prepared at all. I don't understand the point of pre-booking. The menu said 10 meat dishes and 8 vegetable dishes, but (Figure 2) it actually had 5 meat dishes and 6 vegetable dishes. Worst of all, there were no staples. They initially said there was a stew, but after waiting for half an hour and asking, they said it was gone. 4. Cleanliness: Upon arriving at the room, the toilet seat was soaked in water, and there were some unidentifiable residues, likely left behind by the same rag used to wipe the entire room. The cleanliness of the sink is shown in Figures 3 and 4. There was a wooden board next to the bed, supposedly for storage, but it was very dusty. The courtyard chairs were also quite dirty (Figure 5). In the mountains, you shouldn't be too picky about cleanliness, not to mention the dead insects on the floor. But the price is right, so as I said before, this is just a fancy facade. Overall, we felt that Zhangsigou Village was a good place for a relaxing getaway. The locals were very kind, and the staff at the B&B were attentive and friendly. However, the management and service quality really didn't meet the standards of a boutique B&B. When we left, no one even asked us to return our room card; we had to return it ourselves after realizing we'd forgotten. Having stayed in several boutique B&Bs, this one was definitely a relatively poor experience. We hope they improve and get better.
