Sheraton Miramar Resort El Gouna

I made my reservation directly with the hotel. Had to check out 3 days earlier than I had expected, which I explained 6 days jn advance to the lady at the reception desk. She assured me that I can get a refund. Now I was told by another person that my reservation isn’t refundable. Even though it was made directly with the hotel. Overall I’d suggest some English language training to the staff as you have to repeat everything twice. When it comes to some complicated matters - it takes ages to sort them out. The meals at the hotel leave a lot to be desired. For a 4 star hotel it’s fine but definitely not for a 5 start as they advertise themselves Also because of that situation with my “non refundable” reservation - it goes without saying that I will never return to this hotel. The gym is old, small and most of the machines need to be fixed.

We have visited Hurghada many times in the past and this was third visit this year but first to El Gouna area - what can I say but what a fantastic area this is. We booked this hotel specially as it is on an island and surrounded by water and lagoons, we take our paddle boards with us and in the past the sea has been quite rough so difficult to use but viewing the area on Maps it was clear the area would be great for our boards. I contacted the hotel asking for a room as close to water as possible and the reply and service we received from Mr Amer was perfect and professional as expected from Sheraton Chain, we received a large refurbished room overlooking a lagoon and a few steps from the water, perfect for launching our boards into the water, we could paddle for several miles each day around the area and then just leave the boards on our patio. The room was well equipped and spotless with everything you could want and a few minutes stroll to the main hotel area and restaurants etc. The beach was even closer, not more than a minute away. The hotel was very empty when we were there and most days we had the beach and lagoon almost to ourselves with choice of any sunbed we liked. Beach bar service and towel service excellent. Food in the hotel was a good selection and always very clean and hot, also a good selection of drinks at the bars. We went to both A La Carte restaurants and both were excellent, in The Italian you can pay a little more for an upgraded menu - we did this and the fillet steaks was fantastic. All in all a fantastic week at Sheraton and hopefully we will return in December for another week.

very welcoming staff,start with Mr Amer at reception ,the renovated room very comfortable and ibrahim HK very supportive ,updating several USB socket in the room ,thanks to mr mahmoud salma and ahmed for take care our orders,Mr ayman,Adel and chef Alaa in pool restaurant was amazing even we ordered food after 5 PM they served ,Ehab and his team very helpful ,Thanks Mr ali and emad in the Bar for take care for my son request , Over all pleasant stay

once again a great time for our family holiday Thanks to Mister Mosaad from the restaurant, Mister Hassaan from the surf school, Mister Mahmoud and Ahmed from the Beachbar and to all the beach staff. We had a great time during our family holiday, this hotel have nice views as surrounded by lagoon and lots of fun activities to participate. The staff are very friendly and professional especially Mr. Ayman and Mr. Ahmed of the main restaurant . Will definitely recommend Sheraton Miramar Resort El Gouna.

We rarely leave reviews about the the numerous places and hotels we have visited/stayed in across the world (I appreciate this is a poor show on our part and we will endeavour to do better as we have benefited so much from those people who do leave reviews) but feel compelled, after having now booked our 7th stay for May 2024 at the Sheraton Miramar, to say this is a wonderful place to stay.(We were here in 2023 and 2022 and numerous years before then) We have wanted to keep this hotel and El Gouna a secret for so long, as it were, because it is the very best of Egyptian hospitality coupled beautifully with European levels of expectations and standards across the board with neither coming into conflict with the other so to speak. and selfishly, we wanted to keep it to ourselves. We are seasoned travellers and came across the Sheraton Miramar in 2010 (on our 3rd visit to Egypt) and have been coming here ever since. We are very particular in our holiday requirements and seek to get value for our hard earned money, just like everyone else. We keep coming back to the Miramar simply because the hotel is just lovely, even before the recent extensive refurbishment (granted, it had looked a little tired over the years but nothing tragic, as it were). The staff are just wonderful, from luggage porters, reception, room cleaning (rooms were always immaculate) bar staff, beach waiters and chefs. The food standards have been massively improved in the last 3 years in terms of freshness, content and presentation and we cannot fault it, and we are very particular (not fussy) about food. The service from the staff is faultless and they cannot do enough for you. The gardeners keep the grounds, which are beautiful, looking immaculate which is no mean feat. El Gouna itself is just a little piece of paradise combining again, the best of Egyptian culture and hospitality with European standards of expectations and service for foreign visitors. It is beautiful, safe and secure with something for everyone. However, if you're looking for a throbbing all night club scene akin to resorts in other parts of the world, this is not the place for you. There is night life in El Gouna but thankfully it is on the peaceful and quieter end of the scale (and hopefully it stays that way) All in all, there is a reason why we keep coming back here, despite the myriad of other lovely places in the world that we could visit for 14 days. I don't know whether this review is helpful to you but in terms of recommendation, if you visit wonderful El Gouna and want a little slice of additional heaven and comfort with excellent service and facilities, then stay here. It's not the cheapest place but for us we have had more than value for our money as it were and have never been disappointed.

We booked the hotel as part of a package holiday with Tui. Positives: Staff are really friendly and helpful, the place is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The pool area is a great size with lots of beds but limited shade. The beaches are amazing with lots of beds with shades and beach bars. The bar staff are amazing in the Beach and pool bar however in the main bar service is not great. The 1001 asian restaurant is amazing with great food and service and the Italian is great too. Negatives: This is clearly a German led hotel with very few Brits. This is evident in the food offerings it was mediocre in the main restaurant for the standard of the hotel. There were pool rules ie no ball games no keeping sunbeds but none of these were being enforced by the staff people were keeping beds and parasols all day and not even staying by the pool. There was also loud music playing (mainly Arabic house music) around the pool in the afternoon when people are trying to relax. There is no room/showers for later departing guests you have to use the pool showers and get changed in the toilets. The evening entertainment is poor there are two 'DJs' one that plays Arabic house the other German music very little English. They did not play to the age demographic the acts that were on each evening were average. We loved our holiday as it's what we made it but we wouldn't return here
