Hotel Mongibello Ibiza

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked this hotel. Thought it looked a bit odd from the photos but honestly it’s beautiful! So sophisticated! Based on 1960s Amalfi coast vibes. The pool area was great, loads of comfy beds and the music was great! Really chilled. You can walk down a few stairs to a lovely little beach too. Our room had a lovely balcony and overlooked the ocean. The room was really clean and the bed huge and comfy. I slept really well. It was silent at night! Staff on the front desk were super helpful and friendly. Loved chatting with them. There’s a couple of courtesy bathrooms available if you have a late flight after check out. Breakfast was great. So much choice. Only downside was breakfast seemed understaffed, so turn over of tables was slow. Generally had to find a table that hadn’t been cleaned and find own cutlery. Ran out of bowls a few times too. Would have been great if coffee pods for espresso machine in room were replenished too….just went and bought my own from supermarket. Only a 15 min walk in to town. Perfect location.

Loved this hotel, the style of the hotel and decor was very well done, pool area great, hotel close to the beach and a short walk to the town. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff friendly and breakfast excellent. Would highly recommend.

The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are great. We stayed in the suite with terrace and had a large terrace to sunbathe on. The bed was comfy and the room was kept clean at all times. The only issue we encountered with the hotel was a slow service. Check-in was very slow and our room wasn’t ready until after 3PM (stated check in time) which messed up our plans for our first evening. We did receive a fruit platter in our room as an apology though which was a nice touch. The bar service is incredibly slow. We once waited approximately 30 minutes for a bottle of cava and two glasses. With this being out of season, I wouldn’t want to think what it will be like in July/August. Overall, a stunning hotel and I would return out of season again but I do worry about the issues with service at busier times.

Lovely stay , hotel is beautiful! Rooms amazing very clean! But the service was the slowest service ever! Order drinks or food and you are waiting 30 minutes plus and we have come out of season so dread to think how long it would take peek season.

Everything was fine, the hotel is new and beautiful, the staff is kind, I would recommend more attention to detail cleaning, for example the carpet which was all stained the price-quality ratio is good

After reading the initial reviews for this hotel I had tried to change our booking to another hotel as they were so bad, but I am glad I didn't. The hotel is beautifully decorated and very stylish in its design..... the beds are very comfortable, the pool area gorgeously blue, sun beds are comfy, the pool a delight to relax beside, with chilled music playing in the background in the morning, a dj or live singer later in the day... all done very well and not too loud! A little beach just next to the hotel with a snack hut was easy to get to if you wanted a swim in the sea. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and the fresh fruit was delicious. The staff, although quite inexperienced, were friendly and you could see they were trying their best.... as they gain more experience, they will improve. Check in was easy, as was checking out.....Santa Eulalia is an easy 10 minute walk away with a huge choice of restaurants. We preferred getting a taxi into Ibiza town in the evening, it was more lively, took around 25 mins and cost approx €26 each way. The hotel does have room for improvement... - drinks by the pool are expensive, €5 for a small bottle of water (tip, go to the little store opposite to get water & coffee to take back to the pool/your room, i saw quite a few guests do that) - lunch wasn't cheap either with 3 entrees & 2 diet cokes costing €70 - there is a bit of snagging still to do, ladies toilet in reception needs a lock on one of the doors, socket in our bathroom (room 428) was coming off the wall, husband said there were exposed wires in men's toilet in reception by the urinals - rooms could benefit from an additional bin in the main room, not just the bathroom - rooms would be improved with proper hairdryers and a vanity mirror - experience would go up a level if the pool towels were more readily available and not limited to one each in exchange for a towel card. . Sunbeds get very hot and an additional towel would make them more comfortable The issues are minor and the positives FAR outweigh the negatives - 90% excellent, 10% to be improved but I think the Mongibello will get there! I arrived with very low expectations and was looking for faults after reading the reviews before arriving.. however I have come away very impressed and would 100% return.

Gorgeous hotel - spotlessly clean, ultra luxurious. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool was never overcrowded, so there was plenty of space to spread out and relax. The little beach next door was also welcome, and it was an easy 10-minute walk into Santa Eulalia proper if you wanted more bars and nightlife. I loved the music too - there was very much a chilled 1950s/1960s theme, which was a nice change of pace from the rest of the island. Genuinely surprised to see negative reviews here. Maybe a reflection of teething problems when they first opened? Who knows.
